Some of the quotes in this story

“There’s more to this”

“Morrison’s have got there own agenda”

“They don’t want people to know about it”

“I suspect the Russians could be involved”

Alright I made up the last one but

I read this story yesterday. Obviously some jumped up jobsworth denying the people their British right to eat/buy high calorie pies and pasties before 9. I suggest allegedly that is a ploy by Morrisons so customers needing a hot food fix will then have to use the cafe. Very crafty controlling the supply so demand rises too. If it was America they would have called the Police to arrest the wannabee pie munching Mob!

Also the story was lazy journalism, as at no point did it mention if the pie munching hoards were going to use(or were capable of using) the self serve checkout or not. We need answers?

Hopefully the CEO will offer a public apology and offer to meet the affected in person.

I'm just glad the Gazzette and you both brought this to our attention.

"Husband Tony, who eats fish and chips three days a week and rarely touches pastry, branded the decision “stupid”."

So were the pies and 8 sausage rolls for the lovely Linda's breakfast?

On a side note are the pair intentionally trying to look the same?

I'm going into Aldi at 8.15 to see if I can buy a pie. If stopped I'm going to protest outside and ring Dave from the Wear Valley Gazette.

I thought it must’ve been an April fools type story at first till I saw the date.

I’m not surprised, I’m a manager in retailing and some of the complaints we get through are ludicrous. Some very sad individuals about

Loads of depressing stuff is going on in the World cutting edge journalism isn’t really the job of a local paper and they always need a sense of humour. Most of the stories that end up on satirical panel shows start in local papers. The Gazette know this story is comedy Gold that is clear in the way it’s been written and they know stuff like this spreads on social media and will get them a bit of publicity.

It's like something the Daily Mash would report on.

For those of you on Facebook look up 'Angry People In Local Newspapers', it is brilliant.

Followed that page for a while, it's fantastic. Hartlepool Mail has made a few appearances on there.

My faith in Morrisons is completely restored although i think the pies/pasties/sausage rolls from Victoria's at the Fens shops are the best!

I have to agree that this series and the last haven't lived up to previous ones. Still watchable though just not as funny, they probably should have left it alone but I suppose everyone has to make a living.

Me and Dad are "Still Game" for the show! Although it is a bit hitty missy.

I imagine you to look like the guy who returned from America, the stuntman after he took his teeth out, wig off and lost the corset.
