From the supporters of Clapton FC , the Clapton Ultras, at yesterdays game at Wadham Lodge FC.

Paying their respects to a fellow Pools supporter, the person who first took me to Pools ( he never did apologise ) my late father and class warrior Barry Chambers.

It goes to show there are still some lovely people in the world.

Respect to those that made this happen.

And your point is? Always preferred speaking with people who are open and honest and say it how it is, rather than those who hide behind talking in riddles.

Think he's referring to their support for two people who died after being arrested (the Edson and Rashan banner). The police are claiming they were dealers as if that makes killing people in custody alright.

I reckon whatever the ins and outs of any campaigns they support that was a great gesture by the Clapton Ultras and it reflects the high level of esteem for your Dad right across the left.

Thanks for clearing that up. As you say a great gesture. I was asked by a member of the Clapton Ultras a couple of days after my dad died, if I didn't mind if they paid tribute to my dad with a banner. I said no problem, and felt genuinely humbled that a group of strangers, albeit in many respects likeminded ones as myself would want to do this. The months passed, nothing happened, the trail as it often does in these sort of cases went cold, and then yesterday I received a text saying that it had went ahead. True to their word, top lads and lasses, one of their main players, one of our own.
