'In response to requests from Members for an update on the Takeover we would like to make a brief statement.

In our last video update a fortnight ago, we made it crystal clear that having spoken to those involved, we could not envisage a scenario where the takeover would be completed until well after Easter. The deal, as we explained, needs to be ratified by the Board of The National League, and we understand this is extremely unlikely to happen for at least another 7 days.'

Is it just me or does this read like the writer is just a tad pissed off with being asked for updates?

Not really the kind of statement I expected from the Trust which is, ermmm, working for and with the fans.

Tip: never write a statement that's going to be read by a shit load of people when you're clearly a bit cheesed off, better still, get a calm person to read it first.

I agree, it’s similar to a teacher scolding the pupils for not listening
2 weeks ago.
I’m a member of the trust and die hard Poolie fan living out of the area and I need to know what is going on, after what’s happened in the past, ( I am not on Facebook
Twitter etc).

I don't read it like that. Just reiterating what they already said. I really don't know what mpre they can do.

Thought I had logged onto the wrong message boaerd , its a simple clear easy to read message with information which has been supported by the Mail confirming the deal will be confirmed by the National League next Thursday and there is nothing to worry about put out by a bunch of unpaid volunteers who get shit flung at them day in and day out even though they are usually the ony ones telling fans what is going on. I don't think fan ownership would work and for that reason I wasn't originally convinced that we needed a Trust but when the people running it read absolute garbage like this based on one persons opinion of what someone MIGHT have been thinking when they wrote it they must wonder why they bother. If you had an issue with it which most people don't because there is nothing there to have an issue with why didn't you contact them direct and ask them instead of anononous slagging them off on a public message board where they cant defend themselves. Embarrassing !

When I proof read it, it seemed a tad off so I did the other one bbolt

Same here. The Trust are the only people consistently putting out bulletins in an effort to keep us informed.
Why do they do it?
Because, first and foremost, they are just ordinary fans like the rest of us and understand fully what the fans have been going through of late.
Whether people agree with the idea of a Trust or not, they have to be given respect and credit for that.

Oh dear.

Mr 1974 understood what I was getting at above.

I understand the message but the words used sound to me like the person writing it is fed up of being asked about it - friends and family ask me almost daily what the latest with Pools is but I don't tell them '...I made it crystal clear...' etc. It's just completely the wrong attitude. I just tell them 'nothing more to report unfortunately' etc.

Surely something along the lines of 'we all understand the frustration and worry about the ongoing takeover but be assured that as far as we're aware nothing has changed since our last update and hopefully it will be sorted within the next seven days or thereabouts. As soon as we know anything more, we'll let you know. Up the Pools' or equivalent, would've been better?

Mr 1974 mentioned about pupils being scolded by their teacher, I read it and got the same feeling.

I think you've gone way over the top in your response Mr Army. Mountain, molehill.

I am a member of the Trust and back both it and the people running it. I even wear the fucking badge! That DOESNT mean that I will blindly back everything that is said and done. Why would I? The whole point of the Trust is that we, the fans, have a say it what goes on at our club. If people are going to get their hair off about me making this type of comment/post then we really are fucked. It's a fairly irrelevant post in the big scheme of things, I read it and shared my thoughts on here with fellow Poolies. I am hardly flinging shit at the Trust.

I will air my own views on whatever I agree or disagree with. If you want to have a look at my previous posts I have almost entirely backed the Trust. I have disagreed with two things. There was a statement a while back that I thought was pretty poor and all I have said about this one is that the words used aren't the best, nothing more.

It's hardly worth getting worked up over is it? I know I aren't. I think you need to chill the fuck out Mr Army and for the record if I met the fella who wrote it I would say the same to his or anyone else's face. It's hardly confrontational is it? Jesus.

Ha - That’s a long post for someone who isn’t bothered! (I’m obviously pulling your leg!!)
To be fair, there is a tiny bit of exasperation in the trust post but entirely understandable given the relentless asking of the same questions on Facebook. It’s not just the questions either, it’s the sh!t stirring that gets me. Mass panic often breaks out because someone just had a stab in the dark at what’s going on. Everything there currently is to know is reported by the trust- simple as that. Anything else is just noise!!

haha, indeed :)

I am like Mr 1974, I haven't got Facebook....thankfully by the sounds of things...so perhaps without having any knowlegde of it gives me a different view? Probably. Perhaps I would understand the tone of the statement if I had Facebook?

Anyway, setting off now.

I reckon 3 points today and we should be safe, hopefully. Which means of course we'll lose and it'll go to the last game ;)

I have read that Trust statement and the one before it. They are both absolutely fine and I say that as someone who writes for a living.

The fact they even use the term " we would like " in the statement suggests that it was a collective statement which had been agreed and that they were happy to make it . Your opinion is that they were pissed off but that is all it is, an opinion, but you then shoot yourself in the foot by doing the very thing you accuse them of doing by adding a patronising comment in the form of a " Tip " given presumably by an expert to a collection of volunteers none of whom as far as I am aware has a day job in press or public relations.

If anyone is playing the role of the condescending and scolding teacher here it is the person making the original post which is far more " Holier than thou " than the statement it criticises. You have made rather a jackass of yourself both in your statement and your long winded attempt to defend it .

You really should post more often!

Haha, kinell. Never expected this level of scrutiny of post made really late last night. Jesus wept. It wasn't meant to be patronising but that is how you read it and no doubt others will but likewise other people won't

You also nicely big yourself up by adding weight to your opinion by stating you write for a living like that carries any weight at all when discussing opinion. Makes no difference at all.

Condescending, haha, if you knew me you'd know that is the last thing I am. What I will say though is the written word is regularly misinterpreted as is proven on this thread. You type something meaning it to be taken a certain way and it isn't.

Shush now, 20mins to kick off, come on pools

So you’re not on the usual social media platforms yet believe that you have some God given right to be told what is going on? What the actual fuck do you expect? Personal phone calls from prospective owners? Trust members sending homing pigeons with little messages strapped to their legs to land on your back fence?

One of the biggest problems with today’s society is this fucking expectant and need to know nature. Just accept that you can’t know everything and get back in your fucking box rather than stirring up shite for the mere fucking sake of it.

One of the biggest problems with today's society is people lack passion and don't get angry anymore.
