We simply can't afford to lose. If we do it'll go down to the wire.

I fancy a 1-1 Draw. Laing to nod in from a free kick

Positive thoughts people, I will go for a 2..1. The term must win game/s is a cliche, but er this is one of them...however do we ever do anything easy, do we fuck, come on Pools.

Its certainly last chance saloon for Solihull. Expect a feisty game.

I was pessimistic before Tuesday's game and I haven't changed. I can't see SM rolling over and we don't seem to have the stomach for a fight. They have more to lose then us.

Piss poor first half.

They should be 2 or 3 nil up and at least 4 good saves from Loach.

Can we get a new manager in then sack him and enjoy the 'honeymoon period' with Bates all over again. That should see us through to the end of the season.

Would prefer the players to put in a bit of effort to be honest. That was fucking woeful today.

Lewis Hawkins stands out as having the worst performance I have seen since... Devante Rodney's last week.

Anyone see what their player got sent off for?

And on another note, very surprised to see teams like Solihull Moors diving and rolling around like they'd been shot when anyone went near them.

Hawkins was awful but he is out of position in a formation that can leave the full backs exposed, and against a half decent winger.

Agree that we wernt great, but thought Solihull looked much better than their league position.

Fortunately I think others below us are struggling badly for form. I know Barrow have games in hand but they are struggling big time.

I don't know how much longer I can cope with having to watch this embarrassment of a team. Hawkins must play with led in his boots and gave a personal masterclass in how not to defend, he was abysmal but has been for three years. Featherstone was not far behind him, he was absolutely fecking awful!. I'm sick of the sight of these players who have been robbing a wage masquerading as pro footballers for too long. The likes of magnay, Featherstone, Hawkins, harrison, oates, woods have out stayed there welcome and have been the back bone of failure for to long now. Yes woods has scored a few but more times than often you get nothing off him like the last two games.
If it hadn't been for loach today it could have been 5-0 and that is totally unacceptable and the fact we haven't tested the keepers of Guiseley and Solihull is just incredible. Are these players not embarrassed coz If I was a professional player I certainly would be. I just can't get over just how poor these players are, it's just painful to watch them attempt to play football. Fingers crossed yet again for survival and hopefully the clear out of this pile of shite team!

Poor dead balls to one side I thought Hawkes did alright. I like the lad. Always nice to see a youngster do well.

Really disappointed and just a bit embarrassed today.

We've been beaten by the single worst team in the league and followed that up with another home defeat to 4th bottom....albeit 4th bottom who are on a very decent run.

Another home game where we were outplayed, out thought, out muscled and outlasted by a part-time team. Why do we seem to spend the first twenty minutes of every home game seemingly unable to get out of our own penalty area? Why do we never seem to go for the oppositions throat from the off? Why do we play so deep, giving the other team 60% of the pitch to stroll around in unopposed? Is Featherstone as bored playing as we are watching him, and is it possible we may be better team without him, you know, for a change? I'd like to address these questions to everyone who's been involved with the playing side of Pools for the last four or five years, because it seems to have taken root in the grass, dug-outs and changing rooms at the Club.
I am fucking sick of it.

Agree totally, I didn't go today as I had a feeling we wouldn't turn up, our home form is woeful, but not just that our squad is full of serial losers, proven timewasters, who have no real ambition or want to achieve or win anything. I would get rid of the whole lot, that may sound excessive but we need a deep rooted clean out not a waft of a flannel to sort this mess out.

Marks out of ten from the Ripper jury;

Loach - 5
Hawkins - 2
Adams - 5
Magnay - 4
Laing - 5
Newton - 3
Featherstone - 3
Woods - 6
Hawkes - 5
Oates - 5
Cassidy - 4

The God awful worst Pools team I’ve seen in 40 years of watching them. What we used to make up for in skill that was made up in fight and effort was even lacking by the back rolling belly tickle soft as shite no bollock fuckers who we watched roll over to be lubed and shafted this afternoon. If they had any morality they should all be ashamed.

Having made the effort last Monday and having sat through that debacle, frozen to the marrow, there was no way I was putting myself through that again. As it turned out it sounds as if I made the right decision.

I just want this season out of the way, dead and buried in an unmarked grave, eradicated from the records, over and gone with.
The most embarrassing soul destroying season I've ever experienced with a cast of a 'team' that's given me a bad neck at constant shaking of my head.
Get it over with, ditch the team and start again.

If they keep this up in the next two home games the club is going to have a big problem selling season tickets next year.

It looked like we were safe, only needed a point or avoid defeat to Solihull. Only at Pools, probably go to the wire now. The players look tired and jaded , or maybe they think they are safe now. We have seen it many times before , job done, lets just go through the motions in the remaining 5 or 6 games, bad attitude , that's why I don't want Hignett at the club, maybe its the same with Bates. Nothing will change with people like this at the club. Next season will be more of the same. A root and branch clearout is needed, a clean sweep and fresh start, that is what will sell season tickets.

To be fair, over the past few years new managers have taken charge and the players seem to do just as they like. We really need a whole new ethos at the club.

I completely agree. It needs a brand new start from next season. Everyone gone, coaches, players, the lot. Start from scratch, bring up in a manager with experience in winning and let him build a squad to his specifications, playing a system he likes with players that are determined to win. This league has been dreadful all season, I've not seen a single team I thought were actually any good. There is nothing stopping us from challenging next season except ourselves.

Agree ! The main thing that stands out in your post is WITH PLAYERS THAT ARE DETERMINED TO WIN. Never ever seen a Pools side full of so many pussies. Even in the dark days of Roy Hogan, Antony Skedd et al, they had some fight in them. Gateshead have a team full of fighters, hence on another thread I said we could do a lot worse than sign a couple of them. This lot of players have been one big embarrassment. You can excuse a lot of things in football but not , not getting stuck in.

Exactly! The managers of Guiseley and, especially, Solihull Moors seem to be performing miracles on the limited resources they have at hand. Give either of them the Pools job with our collection of wilting pansies, pisswhiffles, fanny-farts and tossbaskets and they would be right in the shit. These "players" deem it acceptable to put in one decent performance every ten games and, apart from Hawkes, who hasn't been corrupted yet, they can all fuck right off.

Last person I want to criticise but Woods was shocking yesterday. I actually wouldn’t have known he was playing other than the offside goal. He’s just a little bit less inconsistent that others.

Solihull were a decent side I thought and we are truly dreadful. Can’t see us signing more than 7 plyers so can’t just get rid of everyone either. This is a long project to get us challenging again

The only thing consistent about our so called team is their inconsistency.
There's been a can't be arsed, not really bothered attitude combined with a lethargy and lack of fight that infuriates fans.
Get the the manager right, get the attitude right among your players and next season may well be worth watching.

Can't see it Snowy. As Chunky1988 said, this is going to be a long haul, there is just too much to unravel, it will take at least 3 years , and its the long game or no game imo. We need to build solid foundations, not just go up and come straight back down. We need to build up the club off the field, so that when if and when we do go up, we are strong enough to not just survive in league 2 but make a good fist of attempting to get into league 1 , otherwise what is the point?.

I'm really sturggling to see what is to unravel?

If you get promoted it stands to reason that you'll have at least a half decent team capable of staying in League Two, for a start they will have been conistently winning games. I can't think of example of a team going up then dropping straight back down. The jump up in quality isn't that great (League Two is shite as well) and you always have clubs on the slide coming the other way. If we had a succesful season after all the shite we have been through the place would be bouncing, the crowds would be up and we'd have nothing to fear going back into the League. Sign the right players with the right mentality and some ability then theres no reason why you can't do well, the league is utter bobbins plenty of the part time teams are doing well enough. Get our house in order and we can be challenging next year.

I'm really sturggling to see what is to unravel? What temperature is out in Dubai today? Off the field, revenue streams, club shop, catering, agents, recruitment, perception of HUFC in the community etc etc. All this needs to be sorted before we can think of sorting things out on the field.

I think you maybe thought I meant unravel on the field, I was talking about more off the field. On the field a lot needs to unravel, but as you say, its easily done. Cheltenham struggled last season in league 2, Barnet and FGR are this season as are Grimsby so maybe they went up too soon without the right infrastructure in place. I agree this league is bobbins, we should of walked it, but a team of pussies in any league will struggle and that has been our downfall, too many of the wrong type of player.

It's quite cloudy today actually.

I totally agree with your final point, but that is something that can be rectified in one transfer window, financially there would never be a too soon to go back up as the financial benefits are massive and would see the club be in a stronger position overnight. We are surely desperate to get back at the earliest opportunity and many of the cuts and things that need to be restructured are as a direct result of no longer being a league club. The first team, and getting the squad right comes before just about everything for me. If that means the youth set up going or being stripping back and the reserve team going then so be it.

It has to start somewhere. Get the attitude right and the manager right and the rest will fall into place.
STOP saying why it can’t be done. It's a time of change, a long overdue time to start getting the place sorted out.
Are you seriously suggesting we hang about getting everything right before we make an attempt at promotion? It's about seizing opportunities. Have you ever seen a team decline promtion because they weren't white prepared behind the scenes.....?

It is bullying to say someone is somewhere else.

Fucking hell, you do realise which board you've logged into? You've been here long enough. Feel free to piss off to mumsnet if you'd prefer.
