Dear Members,

We (Hartlepool United Supporters Trust) would like to notify our members of a new fundraising initiative we are about to launch.

We are going to be launching a Lottery scheme in the next day or so. I have attached a Standing Order (SO) Mandate form. We are asking our members that would like to set up a Standing Order by mandate to arrange for their SO to be transferred to our bank account on the 14th of each month. The basic rules of Lottery will be as follows:

• Standing Orders to be received in to the HUST bank account by the 14th of each month
• Draws will take place on the 21st of each month at 7pm.
• Should the 21st of a particular month fall on a match day, we will default the draw forward a day to the 22nd day of that month.
• 1 ticket will cost £1
• Should you be setting up a Standing Order, we would ask a minimum of £5 per month (5 tickets)
• You can then purchase extra tickets in multiples of one
• Your numbers will be the same numbers each month should you have a Standing Order set up.
• We will also be selling individual tickets each month (further details TBC)
• For the first draw we will be paying a minimum of the following out:
o 1st Prize - £250
o 2nd Prize - £100
o 3rd Prize - £10
o 4th Prize - £10
o 5th Prize - £10
o 6th Prize - £10
o 7th Prize - £10
o Plus other individual prizes
• If you would like to set up a Standing Order without using the Mandate Form on the HUST facebook
page you can do so by using the following details:
o Bank: The Co-Operative Bank PLC
o Account Name: Hartlepool Supporters Society Limited
o Account Number: 65782787
o Sort Code: 08-92-99
o Reference: HUST LOTTERY

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact membership@hufcsuporterstrust.org.uk and we will return your reply at the earliest opportunity.

Thanks in Advance

All at HUST

Won’t somebody think of the match day lottery!!!

In all seriousness it is a good incentive and hopefully for many it is cheap enough to do each month.

Personally I hope this takes off. I’ve gone in with a tenner a month.
I just think we’ve really got to learn from the last year in particular and how close we’ve come to extinction. The worst thing we could do as fans us sit back and think everything is fine. Needing a new owner has been cyclical and I think as fans we can help break that, either by buying in asap or in the future if Raj gets bored or runs out of money. I am worried that people will get complacent though.

Considering raj is 600k short of the £1.8 mill he needs to fund the club over the next 3 years I think it’s essential the fans try n do as much as possible in the next 2/3 years to build up a strong fighting fund and make sure we don’t get in this situation again.

I think it’s a great idea this.

Of course whatever initiative the trust come up with, the usual suspects on Facebook try and come up with some reason to criticise it. Of course of them is only asking a genuine question though and after all he has always been impartial towards the trust.

But I have signed up anyway, and will still put my pound on the match day lottery too.

Like many raffles bingo scratch cards lottery etc in your life it’s not mutually exclusive. You can do as many raffles as you like.

I bought a raffle ticket in the Jackson’s wharf Saturday, which cost a quid and I won it, when I’m at pools today I won’t be thinking oh I can’t do the pools lottery Cos I done the wharf raffle.

Similarly if I stick a fiver a month in the trusts lottery then I won’t be doing that instead of pools lottery or a burger or a drink or any other pools things.

You’d have to be very anti trust to see this initiative as a bad thing.

I haven’t seen the people online slagging it off but I can probably guess who a they are.

Haha that is so good I am actually unsure if it’s a copy and paste or now.

It’s ok, according to another one of the usual suspects everyone is bored it all now anyway. So bored he keeps mentioning it on every social media platform going including a load of the 150 odd comments on the supporters group Fb page on the subject.

Well spotted, this was just a bump exercise and you do have to have them in by the 14th, draw on the 21st.

I set mine up the other day online, but the earliest I could do it for was the 16th, so I will miss the first month and start in May.

"Number 1517"

Am I to presume from this you sold over 1500 tickets? If so thats pretty impressive for the first draw.

Great to hear that the uptake for this has been huge! It's already a big earner for HUST and that's a great response from members AND non-members. If this can turn over £500 profit each month that's a great sum towards the pot which by now will be substantial.
