Roger Whittaker, aka The Mexican Whistler, singer of "I'm Gonna Leave Old Durham Town", the lyrics of which allude to Durham being on the River Tyne!!

Roger the Dodger and a bloke called Roger Moore who isn't the now dead actor Roger Moore. He's a lot younger and can't do any impressive eyebrow movements at all.

Talking of the subject. Was there any need for David Platt's Coronation Street storyline this week??.I mean what would the likes of Ena Sharples and Albert Tatlock have made of it all?

I think it is necessary to depict Male Drug Rape. Isn't it one of the UKs fastest rising crimes or summat?

My biggest gripe about Corrie is how long this fucking Pat Phelan things going on for..my Aunt lives in Whitehaven and she saw his death scenes filmed nearly 3 months back!!

Some kids names get me. My nephew went to juniors with a lad called Bluu and one in seniors called Tiger. Fucking TIGER! Maybe he'll be great at golf but how did they know that when they christened him?

The most stupid thing I've heard recently is a girl whose name is pronounced Ladasha. Which isn't a bad name but they spell it La-a. La dash a. Poor lass will have chew because of that all her life.

I tell you what though, the common names when I was at school were John, Peter, David, Mark, Simon, Stephen, Paul, Michael etc. They are now becoming old men's names, like Alf, Stan, Wilf, Fred, Harry etc were to us, but are now common again for bairns.

There is one refashioned name I can't get to grips with though - a lad I work with called his daughter Beryl. Little baby Beryl. Just sounds weird to me.

At the place in Lincolnshire where I was living 10 years ago, there were two blokes called Sambo and Nigger. Not especially mates of each other.
Both white in case you were wondering.

Fair point. You can imagine the conversation the producer had with the actor known as David Platt:
'It's a bit soon to have you chasing after another drug dealer with murderous intent or going psycho on your latest girlfriend, so how about this - you get buggered by your new best mate?'

Something new for his ferret faced mam to look tearful about too - after she's finished communing with her serial killer ex-husband through a fake medium. It's grim up North.
