Has he scored when he has started a game?

I think that is his first goal off the bench since the Doncaster brace, his other goals this season at South Shields and at home to Woking were in games he started.

The echo still give him a 2, refused to acknowledge his goal counted and ranted about toto for 3 paragraphs.

He’d have probably had a better season this year if he hadn’t played as much but circumstances have dictated that he’s had to. It’s better to take youngsters out of the firing line at times when they have dips in form and confidence but our lack of depth means we have not had that luxury I still reckon he has something about him, certainly all of the physical attributes a centre forward would want.

I thought last week he looked quite positive as well. He is quicker than he looks and big lumps of centre halves at our level hate someone with pace running at them and in behind them.

A comeback like yesterday can do amazing things for a sides confidence, you can start to believe your never out of a game, I just hope we can start to pick up some 3 pointers now as we certainly need some, I'm pleased with away draws but you really need to back them up with home wins.

As for Rodney he definitely looks a player if he could harness all of his potential, I always hark back to Germaine Easter and rue all of the time and effort the club put into him before Wycombe reaped all of the benefits. We need to persevere with him.

Trouble is that many of our fans do not have patience. Can guarantee next game if he tries the same thing and it goes over the stand the shouts of “Gerrrrofff Rodney yer garbage” will come out.

Most of the time he is though. His decision making is terrible. He does have potential though, and the physical attributes are already there, thank god, because if they weren't , he wouldn't bulk up at Pools. I have been one of Rodneys biggest critics but he is slowly winning me over, and if he can continue his steady improvement , maybe he is worth sticking with and he will produce the goods for us, not someone else.

I agree with all you say Ronnie and just think we need to play to his strengths which is down the flanks and not up front on his own where he is not intelligent or nasty enough to play.

That’s why we need to be patient. He can be frustrating but shouting dogs abuse at him when he is won’t really help him.

Not saying anyone on here does btw, just talking more generally
