Well I wasn't going to post anything on here but as I have now joined the glorious list of people that have been banned from elsewhere I will.
It came to my attention that a moderator on another social media board stated that he hoped the HUFC Trust would "wither and die". As a member of the Trust I took exception to this comment, which was based, by the persons own admission, on a dislike of a particular Trust Board member.

In essence he was happy to put the whole existence of HUFC at risk by his dislike of one person.

I responded quite politely, explaining that I was unhappy about these comments and could not understand why they had been made. I did not pursue the matter further and did not look to post anything about it on here to try and keep the peace!

However there is now a thread on the other social media outlet that is entitled with my name, GeoffcN. On this it states that I am now banned from the Board. Whilst that is no great loss it really does go to show the intolerance of some people and the problems the Trust Board and indeed the 1100 Trust members face when trying to hard to save the club they love.

Others really do seem happy to see it die rather than have a Supporters Trust involved in any shape or form. I find this extremely sad and depressing.

Dont know you Geoff but in my eyes your one of the very few to receive stick on here and still post here and also get behind the Trust.

That to me shows your true love for the club.

Sadly it doesnt look like enough people share that love for the club to have a future.

Surprised he's lasted this long to be honest. glasshalffull will probably be after him as he usually tries to keep peace. It was a fairly active board before they kicked us all off, but when everyone agrees with each other it's hard to have a debate.

According to their website they are a Charity whose aim is to raise money for the benefit of all that enter Victoria Park and they also state they will support other groups with a similar purpose.The Chairman though regularly bans anyone who disagrees with him from their forum and refers to anyone who disagrees with him a non supporter of the club and attacks on the Supporters Trust are common and they are now even naming people on the board of the Trust and having a go at them too. They do all this while saying they want all fans to be united and have not only banned Geff for nothing they have started a thread saying abuse wont be tolerated but there is then people calling him a twat and saying fuck off to him when they know he cant respond. How they can say they are a charity for all fans and behave like this is a joke !

I had a go the other night at trying to stop threads being opened like the one you refer to Geoff. It doesn't really serve any purpose. I always thought your posts were pretty good, never appeared to be "stirring the shit" - we must all have different interpretations of that though. I have actually quite enjoyed posting on/reading both boards - it's becoming more like the Hartlepool United Supporters Group on Facebook as the days pass though.

It's easy to understand - Bluey and the rest of the Mitchell brothers' North-East uncles had their 5 minutes in the spotlight about a month ago when Rachel's fund-raising effort took off.

Having put themselves in opposition to the Trust for no more reason than they didn't think of it first, they're now sulking on the sidelines and dreaming up ever more absurd reasons why a supporters trust is a bad idea.

They're best ignored - the alternative is for Mr. Harnish to stand down as chair in favour of Bluey and make one of his cronies membership secretary so they can carry out a cull of people they don't like.

Originally the thinly veiled excuse to not support the Trust is that some were so opposed to a pheonix club that they would no longer support the club if the worst happens. I don’t get that personally but I respect people are entitled to a choice and if they felt enough was enough then so be it, fair enough. The Trust were continuously and wrongly accused of wanting to run the club and wanting it to go out of business so they could.

Now with a viable rescue plan on the table they still won’t get behind it because it involves backing the Trust and has no involvement from the friends group or have an option to buy individual shares. If people back this it will save the club and at least give it a chance to start with slate wiped clean.

I think a reason and half baked justification will always be found when it’s the Trust are involved with these people. A very small group of extremely blinkered people are a lost cause unfortunately and it’s based on personal agendas and/or grudges, not what’s best for the club. That’s very sad at the end of day but what can you do? When you read what the friends group claim to be why should they be involved in this? How many members do they actually have does anyone know? Why do certain individuals have to be involved? Here we have a way of saving the club and moving forward with fan representation at board level at the end of the day if the want to be involved they can join the Trust and put their name in the hat.

It makes no sense and is now beyond a joke.

As I stated above I was not going to put anything on here. I was sad and disgusted by the comments made but was prepared to try and keep the peace as there has been far too much bitterness.
But them to ban me for objecting to what had been said about ME - because I am a part of the TRUST - including the fact that we should all "wither and die" I find quite unbelievable. What was I supposed to do about it just sit here and accept it?

Why isn’t the message board a closed forum? Free speech is banned along with most of the members if he genuinely wants to keep the peace just hide it away and let them talk between themselves.

The friends group is like fight club, no one can join, no ones allowed to ask questions about it, no one really knows who runs it and what its objectives are.

First rule of friends club is don't ask questions about friends club or your banned/blocked.

Seriously though you cant join, it has no member list, no accountability, no way of donating.

Yet your threatened with legal action if you dare do any of the above.

The thread in which the comments about wishing the Trust would "wither and die" has now been removed - interestingly! I had asked which of the current Trust board did they have a problem with. The response from one person, a moderator, stated he had had a problem with a certain Trust board member for the last 10 years. As such he hoped the Trust would "wither and die" and added that a lot of people felt the same way! Given that the person making the comment says he is the "overseas moderator" I wondered just who he was meaning by the people who felt the same way? Surely it could couldn't be any other contributors as they all maintain that they are not against the Trust so presumably they don't wish it to do what he wants.

It’s an echo chamber. The only withering and dieing will will be their board at this rate.
We can only hope for an epidemic of common sense to break out among them.

Despicable behaviour. I'm struggling to think of a more decent, likeable, friendly Poolie than Geoff. Personally I'll be glad when this is all over, because by God there's been some horrible, nasty little episodes over the past year or so.

Not all of us on that board are against the trust. I think the trust have done a fantastic job so far. Lets be honest they can do no worse than the crooks that have been running our club the last few years. For some petty reasons some fans and its probobly numbers 3 or 4 out of 3500 do not want the trust to succeed for one reason or another. In the grand scheme of things 3 or 4 fans are claiming far too much publicity over it if they dont like the trust so what thats their opinion and their right. The club needs saving and it needs saving now time to forget who is against the trust and move on. We all hope some multi millionaire takes over but unfortunately that doesnt look like happening.
