If we cant beat these we may as well give up. Sounds very similar to us , on and off the field, only they aren't skint.

Their fans sound like a bunch of manic depressives, and an early goal and I think a lot of them will be contemplating ending it all.

Just had a peek at their forum, bloody hell and you think i'm bad.

Good to see that their squad includes a few Pre-Madonnas though. Surely even Pools can beat a team that includes teenage lasses from America?

I say surely but it really isn't certain is it? I reckon we would lose to an outfit that packed the midfield with early-Beyonces and an embryo Taylor Swift would prove too fast for our defence.

I've only been there once, middle of July, baking hot. If I was a shit patter-peddler I would suggest that it should have been renamed Barrow-in-Furnace. But I'm not so I won't.

Surely a pre-Madonna would be about 70 now. If so, we could be in real trouble.

Could be mature women in pointy bras against boys. Only one possible outcome...

When I went it looked great and the Tourist information gave me loads of leaflets on interesting attractions. Most of them were actually closed though. Barrow in Fur coat and no knickers.

If we had been out of the EFL as long as they have, we would be worse!

It was hot when I passed through there too. Was changing trains for Ulverston, now there's a canny place, in a 1970s time warp.

Hopefully Saturday will be one of those rare away days , a classic away win , like at Grimsby a couple of seasons ago. Ok maybe not.

Four of us in a car near the submarine assembly shop crossed over to Walney Island. Heading north was a waste of time where the airfield is, so head south to the bird sanctuary ( God knows why). Anyway the single track road got narrower and narrower with the Irish Sea on either side but we pressed on following the signs till we arrived to find the road locked and gated. A three point turn had nothing compared to what we had to do. The positive being it wasn't my car.

Yes I was. What a dump, makes Hartlepool look like Milan. The Travelodge was right behind the ground, and when I got in from the pub at around 10pm the floodlights were on, they must of been trying to dry the pitch out. I woke up at 3am in the morning and looked out of the window, it was raining and I just knew that was that, it continued to rain until around 1pm Saturday.

So I still haven't been to Holker Street, may go over for the rearranged game, imagine that towards the end of April, winner takes all

Lancaster was a cracking night out Saturday though.

have not been since the early 60,s and cannot imagine anything has changed for the better. the town looked like a film set for a 1930,s B film then and hasn,t changed the last time i was their.

Can't imagine Holker Street would be acceptable for league 2 football , looked like it was falling to bits from the outside , very dilapidated.

Barrow is one depressing hell hole. However when we went there for what was thought to be our last ever game, their fans were class and a credit to their club. They have been there and got the t-shirt too when it comes to dodgy owners so were very sympathetic to our plight.

It certainly has a Soviet style feel to it.

3 ex pools players on show. Dan Jones in the thick of the action, good going forward , but possibly to blame for the goal. James looks as though is confidence is shot.
