Anyone know much about Grant Findley or worked for him? He is an interested party, according to the mail

Looks like he took over his Dad's 3-man firm in 2008 and has since expanded it into a multi-site operation, employing over 100 people and with a turnover of a few million. Looks very much a reputable company, even contracted by the BBC to undo work from a cowboy builder on DIY SOS!

His Twitter profile says he is a philanthropist and is keen to preserve our culture. Surely a club like ours is part of North East culture

Was a joke to be fair! Don't know the guy from Adam and I appreciate we can't afford to be picky. Obviously has a solid, well presented business with directors that have been in place for between 7-10 years from what I see, all of which makes a change!

But we have to be picky don't we. What's the point selling to someone else whose sole intention is to rip us off. (Not saying that this guy would by the way). We'd only be left in the same position 6 months down the road only probably in an even deeper hole.

I guess where we're at, some sort of consortium with a number of businesses of their size could be feasible? Who knows if he is actually serious though- as someone else said, could just be a bit of publicity for him.

Yeah I was being quite flippant when I wrote that. It was before his Twitter tastes became apparent. Not that I'm suggesting a link, I'm sure the people he follows and retweets, the right leanings, the anti political correctness and the desire to "preserve and protect our culture" are entirely innocent and coincidental. Seems to be a good roofer though.
