Even though I've believed that the club wouldn't get through this for a while except for a brief period when it looked like Chris Musgrave had come to the rescue, now that we look like we're at the end of the road it's hit me tonight like a bereavement.

This really could be it for this small proud club. 110 years up in smoke at the hands of thieves, con men and incompetents.

We can rise again but we will need to all pull together or it really will be all over.

Spot on, we need everyone to pull together and we need you as much as anyone John. Liquidation here we come and lets hope we take some of the thieving bastards down with us.

Whilst desperately sad, I'm at peace with the fact that at least liquidation means we may finally see the back of a string of absolute c@nts who have systematically destroyed our club.

I hope I never see Watson, Coxall, Goldberg or Duxbury for that matter...

That's exactly what it feels like Mr I. I'm trying to handle it by being a bit silly, but inside I'm angry and gutted. Its happened to bigger and better clubs than ours, but some bounced back. its just we came to believe we were invincible. I do believe when the dust has settled , things will start to look better again

The shitstorm of the last few years has to end NOW.
We will build a club to be proud of. A club that that doesn't need owners or "investors" that are either egomaniacs or just twats operating at the "respectable" end of the criminal spectrum.
We may fall a long way but we will never again be as low as we are at the moment.

Totally agree.

I hope all differences can be put aside so that we can rise again. So long as we have a team that plays in blue and white to go see on a weekend in Hartlepool - powered by the FANS for the FANS - that's all that matters.

It was having expectations that made supporting a club like Pools so painful. If in the near future our expectations are none other than just to start again, maybe get promoted a couple of times and having a say in a club run properly by the fans for the fans it will be like a breath of fresh air, compared to the banality of the last 6 years.

Just getting the feel good factor back at the ground would be a great start. We might even see us win a game now and again. Even in the dark days of the early 80s we occasionally won 3-0 , can you imagine that ? Even in those days with only 800-1200 in the ground there was a better atmosphere and more noise than there is at the moment.

In saying that It would be just my luck for a White Knight to ride in and save the club at the last minute, and this post would be used against me for years to come. Those of us resigned to our fate would be accused of jumping ship and or betraying the club.

.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE EXPECTATIONS....otherwise what's the fucking point of turning up each week?

Well that's what I've been saying for years, and usually got pelters for it.
What i meant was initially , first few years, we should be just glad to be alive, a bit like after having a heart attack, while we build ourselves up, then generally increase our expectations and ambitions. I'm sure we will piss the first couple of leagues regardless, but when we get to Evo Stik level then we will need to crank things up.

You know me Snowy, reaching the stars is not good enough for me, I want the moon , I'm just planning ahead, and I think initially we should just take things slowly, in order to build any new club up financially and get the feel good factor back. It will take time to get back into the league, we will be no Wimbedon believe me. In fact I doubt any of us will live to see it happen, but we have to give it a good go.

That is why I'm not too upset about starting again, because as you say, what was the point of going these last 6 or 7 seasons, its been a dreadful time, a slow lingering death, that probably hasnt ended just yet.

Imagine a nightmare scenario whereby the current owners wangle some sort of scheme that enables the club to carry on under their esteemed leadership or that of the next crooks in the chain for years to come.

I remember thinking on Sunday 29th May 2005, this is probably as good as it is going to get. Almost 13 years on it certainly looks that way. sadx

I saw a documentary on that once; you need to get a shrink-ray and you're almost there.
