On the Duxbury thread, ElvisC asks something which I'm surprised has taken so long to surface, but his question has been somewhat drowned out in that thread, so I'll bring it up here:

"My big fear is the next Home game vs Woking....how can we afford to stage it??

For a kick-off, there will be a far bigger Police Presence following the dafties with the flares (we are on our last warning for this btw) and the chew outside after the game (which DID happen)

Then theres the Utilities..cant run a ground without power, water, gas...Internet...phones...

Very very worrying if those bills haven't been paid."

This is something I've been wondering since before the Wrexham game, and admittedly treat that game as though it was our last ever at the Vic - at least in our current guise. If we only got that game on because of using the player's wages to pay the outstanding Ambulance Service bill and put refreshments in the kiosks, with ground staff offering their services for free, how are we going to get this game on?! Am I missing something?

I honestly won't be attending another game until either the club is sold or reformed.
It's a pointless exercise if it is on, we won't finish the season and the club won't benefit from any money made on a matchday.

Surely the cost of these would be paid by people paying through the gate, particularly away fans although I appreciate there's unlikely to be many. The problem then is being cut off because we owe legacy money to everyone. Forfeiting the game isn't an option in itself (I presume we'd be thrown out of the league and drop a way down the pyramid, although this may well happy anyway) so we'd have to go into administration before then?

You're not missing anything...how CAN that next game go ahead? Yeah, we can muster up a few cars to travel to Barrow and doubtless the Coach/Hotel for Saturdays game is already paid or simply added to the bill..but a Home game must costs thousands just to actually get on??

Well unless someone comes along soon we're heading into the wilderness years. At the rate we're going we'll soon be off grid, literally

Let's say we're optimistic and say there are 200 away fans paying full price on the gate. = £4000
Let's be massively optimistic and say there are 500 home fans paying full price on the gate. After all, not many that witnessed Saturday's debacle are going to come back in a hurry = £10000

£14,000 isn't going to go far, is it?

No one who has any sense should be turning up for the next home game anyways

How has anything changed from #savepoolsday? 5 days ago it was "Pack the park, don't go in the local pubs - get your drink in the ground, buy a programme, buy some food" and now we're talking boycotts and avoiding giving a further penny to the club (rightly so, in my opinion).

The prospect of the takeover had no bearing on that, did it? If the ground was empty on Saturday it would have made no difference.

No wonder people on the 'outside' of our situation are confused.

I think we were all hopeful the takeover may go through, desperate in fact. Now we're resigned to the fact there's no hope.

Far enough for utilities bills I would have thought. I had always been under the impression that you paid police up front for the season but thinking about it now maybe that doesn't make much sense as success might bring the need for more staff.

Regardless the League Cup Final last season cost £150k to police at Wembley. I don't think policing the game should cost more than £5k on this basis but there's always the chance I'm being naïve.

If other (non-essential) staff for the game aren't covered by the proceeds of playing the game then I think the owners would have got rid by now. I can't believe there's going to be a huge black hole to fill (if any). Also, not playing the game and being hit with sanctions is going to remove any small glimmer of hope that the club will be bought. Why pay millions for a northern league division z team?

I was reading a thread about Billericay Town on a forum the other day and apparantly their wage bill is around 50k a week fair does I know they have money behind them, I wonder how much Paul Konchesky and Jermaine Pennants wages are towards that, Anyone have any rough idea what our wage bill maybe, I'm presuming its around the same as that or less? There is talk about us going into Asminstration and been deducted 10 points etc I believe they are in the Evo Stik league I haven't looked where they are at but god forbid if we do drop down a few divisions just look at what we are up against! I hate to say it but I can't see us bouncing back from this mess anytime soon unless a investor is found Immediatly and ready to pump his cash into club.

Much less than that. I'm not sure we'd even have been paying that in League 1. A post on here claimed wage bill was £1m a year so around £20k a week.

I will be in New York that weekend and have a feeling I may have already seen my last Hartlepool United game. If the rumours going round are true then it sounds like the club have paid hardly anyone the last months so it is only a matter of weeks surely before it goes under. Also have no idea why people are still donating to that Just Giving page. it is just throwing money into a black hole. Be better off keeping the money for when we have to start again. Even if we have to drop down to Northern League if we get £250k together now it will mean we can go out and sign good players for that level over the Summer and bring in a good manager and hit the ground running.

If half of the rumours are true - so that, in effect the club can't settle liabilities as they fall due, and has no realistic prospect of trading out of the hole (and by doing so could safeguard the position of creditors) - then it is insolvent, continuing to trade can only harm the position of creditors and, if so, the directors will be advised not to incur any new costs - and that, my friends, is goodbye.....

And as a Chartered Accountant, Pam will know that.............as will InsolvencyGeoff..........

If it helps keep the club alive and all players are sold, I'll play right back for the rest of the season

Barrow seems like an apt place for the club to die, oh the irony, 1972 and all that. Rather than boycott games, I think we should make every effort to converge on Barrow.

Along with what I'm sure will be the majority of Pools' season ticket holders, I will be at the Woking game if it goes ahead.

Granted things may come to a head before then, granted the situation is very bleak, but unlike many on here I don't have a crystal ball and therefore can't be ABSOLUTELY certain that this really is the end. Till liquidation has actually happened and the new reality is there to be dealt with, there's always the remote possibility of a better outcome.

Going along to support the team isn't an endorsement of the owners any more than its an endorsement of the manager - but I'm willing yet again to do my best to encourage the players, whose futures, unlike mine, are at stake. Sage have already got my season ticket money and I'll hold my hand up and say I will be buying a programme (if they can find a printer to produce them). So, 3 quid to the enemy it is.

Funnily enough, I played left wing once in my junior days. Scored two goals and hit the bar from 35 yards. We won 2-1 and only had 10 men for 75 minutes. It was top vs 2nd too.

I reckon I could hack it
