If we did have to start again next season with a new club, what are the chances of the council letting us play at the Vic?

Why wouldn’t they what else are they going to use it for?

The council clearly understand the value of the club to the Town.

If we are playing in the Northern Premier league next season it may be too expensive to play at the Vic when considering maintenance, security, energy bills etc.

We have a core fanbase of 3,000 and at the minute only pay a peppercorn rent now, the ground is one of the few things we don’t have to worry about.

Stockport manage

In the summer of 2015, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council purchased the stadium in order to prevent it from being demolished and redeveloped. After a plea from fans to safeguard the stadium, an emergency council meeting was held and the stadium was purchased for £2 million. It is currently leased back to the football club.

Currently there are two active supporters' groups which work in conjunction with each other: Help the Hatters is a group of unpaid volunteers who raise money for the club and help the maintenance and upkeep of Edgeley Park. They also helped organise the Players Fund, which is a fund used to buy (or help pay wages) of young players. In the past The Players Fund has helped in the development of Rhys Turner (who earned a move to Oldham Athletic) Scott Duxbury, Bobby Lofthouse, Chris Churchman, Matthew Todd and Connor Hancock.] The players fund is also used to give the Stockport County Supporters Co-Operative shares in the football club

The Stockport County Supporters Co-Operative (Formerly The Stockport County Supporters Trust) is the other active supporters' group where there is a £12 annual membership fee. The Supporters Co-Operative's aim is to give the club's greatest asset – the fans – a voice; as well as a stake in the football club through its Guardian Account. The Supporters Co-Op also assists in running the Stockport County Appearance Number (SCAN) Scheme where every player who has played a senior professional game is recognised with a unique framed certificate and a number which show their position in the list of players to make their debut for the club.

Open two stands if the demand is low. No segregation needed.

Segregation of home and away fans or just the different factions of home fans ? :animals-dogrun:

I don't think we'll be able to fulfil our fixtures if what's being said is true.

The council own the land but who owns the infrastructure? If you got into admin or get liquidated then its quite possible the infrastructure could be sold off or scrapped to pay off debts.

That would take us back to 86/87 then, when there wasn't any terrace cover in the ground

They can take those 10,000 sky blue seats we have in store.

A couple of points about the ground situation. The club have a long lease on the ground and pay the council £18000 per annum rent. The Supporters Association sub let the land on which the Corner Flag stands. This is a legal agreement which they have with H.U.F.C. As a result this gives the S.A. certain rights .It is possible that, with help, the S.A. could take over the lease of the ground enabling football to :o be played on the Vic.
Regarding the ground infrastructure much of it was built with grants from, I think, Sports Foundation or something similar. Such a body might have something to say if there is any suggestion that the stands would be sold for scrap. Similarly the Rink End stand, this was built with money raised by the S.A.
and should revert back to them if H.U.F.C. goes into liquidation.
Things haven't got to that state just yet. Let's hope that the football club can survive the present crisis and go onto better things.

What do the SA intend to do with the rink end? Is the regular singer's following growing?

Thanks for the info, some reassurance at least. The fact the club pays a pittance for their ground really highlights how badly run it's been.

The amount of time the stands have been in place should mean that any payback timescale on a grant will have long past.
They will however be assets of HUFC. If the supporters association have it writing that the rink end returns to them then maybe that stand is safe. The rest however could well be sold off.

Maybe some if the fund raising needs to be to pay for the infrastructure at the ground so that it’s not sold to others. Would be interesting to find out how much per Stand we’d need to raise and get cracking. Plus the changing rooms and stuff (is the Clock Garage building rented or owned?). Sound out some businesses for long term stand naming rights in return for buying them before the scrap yards do?

They can have the roof off the Mill House stand, it doesn't serve its purpose anyway
