Don't know that much about it but would it make sense for Sage to put the club into administration as they obviously cannot pay their way ? The 200k needed is presumably gonna be needed by the 25th to pay for the month before so that amount is gonna be needed by February 25th, March etc right up until the end of the season just to see we can finish the season in the National League. I know administration is expensive but will be a way of negotiating with creditors and having some accept less of what they are owed as the threat of liquidation will lead to nought in some cases ? Surely the perspective new owner will get the club cheaper etc and presumably Sage\ Blackledge etc will be the main creditors and negotiate a settlement whilst in administration? Obviously the 10 point deduction could lead to relegation to the National League North but may well be the way we get rid of Harrison etc so by having their contracts negotiate and mutual settlements agreed and most of the playing squad as well? I have a nasty feeling we are going the way of Darlo ? It's January 22nd now the 25th for this 200k is less than 3 days away ? Unless the takeovers done and dusted ( farfrom it it appears,?) Then I suspect administration is looming? I used to be a big Ice Hockey fan in the heady days of the Durham Wasps and remember when John Hall bought the Wasps and moved the franchise to becoming the short lived Newcastle Sporting club the Newcastle Vipers didn't last long, the owners pulled the plug on the franchise mid season and the Ice Hockey Elite League had to bail the club out so it could finish the season rather than expunge the results and kick them out of league . What happens if Sage\ Blackledge etc skip administration and puut the club into liquidatiion if the take over does not happen? As I say I am not an expert but wondering what if and the worst possible scenario happens?

No benefit of putting the club in administration, from what I see, Sage are pretty much the only creditor, so they would gain nothing from going into administration. All Football debts need to be honoured 100%, so the players have no reason to accept a reduced settlement.

Admin is actually one of the worst options for Sage, as they to a degree lose control over what happens to the club (the Administrator runs it, not them), and the choices are more likely to be accept pennies in the pound of what they're owed, or liquidation which would bring in even less for them as we have very few fixed assets. If they've got a choice of stick 20K in knowing they'll get half of their loan back, or allow admin and be lucky to get 10%.....

We don't know the figures although there's plenty of talk - but if Sage have put in anything like what's said, the only advantage to them of doing Administration is if they effectively are prepared to write off the vast majority of the debt. Yes they have some measure of control assuming they are our largest creditor - but either they take a big hit and vote for the sale and probable CVA of maybe 20%, or obstruct it and get even less - plus destroy whatever reputation they may have left...

Should they go for the nuclear option, we'd go out of business, results expunged, we'd have to form a new club (almost certainly through the Trust and hopefully with the Council on board playing at the Vic) and start next season - most likely in the Northern League. Darlo were treated as a new club and placed there - likely the same for us.

Other clubs have risen from the ashes and if a reborn Hartlepools United can start afresh without all the current crap, then it's probably the best option. The Trust must be the 'owners' of any new club.

Why does anyone think going out business and reforming or administration is the 'best' option? It isn't it would be an utter disaster for the Town and all of us. The club would never be the same again. Previous generations didn't give up and it would be a disgrace to all the people from those previous generations to for us to do so. If the worst possible scenario happens then we the fans take it from there, that has always been the case.

I understand the Football was awful on Saturday but had we played like Brazil and won 6-0 on Saturday the clubs predicament would be no different and until I read different we still have a takeover on the cards.

Best scenario I think would be someone to take over the club in the short term, then over a period of 5-10 years, slowly work towards making the club a totally Supporters Trust run club.

Whether there is a philanthropist , rather than a businessman, investor , property developer, out there prepared to do this is another thing.

Best scenario is Hartlepool United playing at the ViQATARia Ground and playing in Europe within 6 years. I’ve emailed the royal family. It will be great publicity for the Qataris as it will be a fairly quiet year for them I believe. Waiting on a response.

Wrexham are fan owned, if only we were so we could afford a striker like quigley to score goals for us.

What now? It's looking bleak? According to Jeff Stelling liquidation is a possibility.

Surely the club \ Pam Sudbury must be honest and tell us what the real situation is ?

I wouldn't hold your breath. One day soon they'll be gone, along with our club.
