Pretty much sums it up ...

I have a problem with some of this article. It, once again, shows Pools as a perennial basket-case that can only be kept going by the generosity of some "benefactor". It uses phrases like "bankroll the club to the tune of the required £130,000 per month" and "The current owners have put £1.8 million into the club" both of which are bordering on the laughable, also "bankrolled by Independent Oil Recovery" (Maybe initially, but certainly not after Larson's "problems", in the last few years of IOR's stewardship the reverse was, probably, the case). We all know these figures are solely due to the incompetence and, dare I say it, stupidity of a business that was done up like a kipper by a certain previous owner. We, as mere supporters, had no choice but to accept Coxhall and his cronies and hope for the best - this didn't apply to Sage Investments.
Over the past ten years the owners of Pools have been at best disinterested/incompetent, at worst, apparently, almost criminal. All of these owners, in my opinion, have taken more out of the club than they have contributed.
The fans and most of the staff deserve much better than this. I hope, beginning next week, we can start to put this all behind us. As the magnificent kindness of football fans and players near and far has recently shown, there is a lot of affection for Hartlepool United F.C. That's something to build on.
