I've been going to Pools since I was at the juniors, a long time ago and over the years I've come to be puzzled how a club of our size can have so many apparent factions amongst the supporters base.
I'll be honest, I've got a season ticket, I turn up every week, got my lads addicted, but that was it, no other connections.
Been to events down the years but always found it very cliqueish and distant. I find it fascinating how different groups diverge with different paths to what should be the same thing.
I just can't see why there can't be one central grouping which may give the supporters more of a voice. A Trust with a greater remit for me would fill that need, that has to be the future. For now though it looks to a long time outsider like The League of Gentleman do Football.
People can tell me I'm wrong but I don't give a shiiiite, I'm on the outside looking in.

Im afraid that factions around smaller clubs seem to be normal. I have seen from fairly close by similar situations, regarding both the state if the club and the supporters groups, at cambuur leeuwarden( holland) and more recently limerick fc. I dont know the answer

It'll be the same everywhere, people have opinions, they don't agree, they setup there own thing because they either don't agree or think they can do better.

It's not just in football either, everything, life.

Snowy, I don't know whether you use the Corner Flag but I can assure you that if you were to call in for a pint you would be made most welcome. As it says on its website the C.F. was built by supporters for supporters. In these difficult times the C F.should be the focal point for supporters to gather and discuss ways and means of helping H.U.F.C. survive. Opening times are Friday night's 7pm until 11pm. and before and after home games. This invitation is open to anybody who has the interests of Pools at heart. I'll be standing at the bar to say hello.

It should probably makes things easier, all the info is out on there on how valuable a trust is, how it works, what its done to other clubs. etc

People just dont seem to read it though and continue with half truths and fake news.

I don’t doubt your intentions, but the times I’ve been in there it was a bit Royston Vasey. One of the problems with any body with ‘members’ is it becomes obvious it’s their territory.

Forget MadJohn. That guy is the lowest of the low; he's responsible for all the world's ills. Time for another witch trial? Judge Nutmeg is in session...

I've never had an issue going in the Corner Flag and don't get the royston vasey vibe, a great pint and decent people in there.

You’ve had a good experience there, I didn’t and never went there again. It’s all about perceptions, but then isn’t everything.

Hahaha you complain that there needs to be unity, are invited to go along and then complain that you had a bad experience once and have written it off. Its a members club due to the liquor licence isn’t it? Or it was. I’m not a member but have been in there a fair few times. Always fine. People are friendly enough and will have a chat. Why not go along and have a pint. If cf pm’s me the account details i’ll put 6 quid behind the bar for you and him to have a pint and a chat.

Plain crisps? Woah. Sorry fella but I’m part of wsfce, the worsceter sauce flavour crisps elite. I had a bad experience with plain once. Until I put some real life actual Worcester sauce on them and then everything was ok again. You should try it. There’s a new bread for somebody to start that could run to twelve pages. I’ll do that.

I was in there after the last home game and there wasn’t anybody standing by the bar to say hello to me.

Just send me the £6... I can find a better use for it than beer. Thanking you in anticipation.
P.s. I’ll have the crisps though.

Great don’t pop in for a pint of cordial then. No problem. Separate crisp related thread now exists. There isn’t a best way to spend six pounds thread though yet.
