When did his 25 year rolling contract end. There will be some broken hearts remember the ones who wanted him. Where will we get a defender that cannot tackle header or pass not to mention cannot get fit.

I was thinking more of the wider angles around this story.

Like, should we run a sweepstake on how many full-time professionals Pools will have left at the end of this transfer window? And will any of them be the ones we wanted to stay at the club?

You talk some proper shite you. Always confrontational and petty as well.

Anyway the most surprising aspect of this story is we have found a willing taker. It can’t only be a club below us surely, Darlo? York? The Raglan? He did have potential and plenty of the attributes to be a decent player. Technically he’s decent I don’t know if it boils down to what’s between (or isn’t) between his lugs that’s the issue but I can see him as someone who’s drifted out of the game altogether in a year or two. He’s got worse progressively and hasn’t learnt anything he makes the same mistakes over and over again.

It happens. I agree with PJ, he had the potential , but that potential was never realised. He was lucky to get another chance but has blew it. He may do better at a club on the up rather than on the slide and with better players alongside him, but I doubt it. Michael Ledger is at similar stage to when Harrison came to pools, Ledger I reckon could play at higher level, but who knows, a lot of it is about attitude. Neil Collins was another from Sunderland who came to us on loan, looked okay as a player, but clearly had right mentality and went on to be a decent Championship / league one centre half.

As PJ says he's done well if he has got another club. My honest opinion is that ANY youth team defender couldn't do as badly as he has this year. I don't know if it's down to his confidence or purely down to who he's playing alongside exposing how bad he really is but if there's an option to get him off the books I don't think Harrison should worry about any void.

Even a 20 clem Bates on crutches would turn quicker.

I retract the bit about agreeing with PJ, two people simultaneously saying he was right, gadgie's head is big enough already.

I'm actually absolutely shell shocked that any other side could want him. He's a massive liability and it's no coincidence when he plays we almost always concede a goal through an error of his!

If anybody wants him they should be asking where they want him dropping off before they come to their senses. Terrible for over 2 seasons should not of been seen anywhere near the first team since September.

As for leaving the team short of what exactly painfully slow movement, gazing hopelessly into space, failing miserably to out muscle an opposition centre forward and a general air of not really bothered. Sure quite a few could fill the gap step forward from retirement Matthew Bates for starters.

Hopefully the first of several but personally I am amazed they could move one on. Not including Loach.

I certainly don’t think I’m petty one of the worst traits is ‘I told you so’ I don’t get the mentality on hearing some news that the first thing you need to do is vindicate yourself and have a pop at others, pretty much always the way this poster goes. I wonder who he was in a previous life or a different forum!?

Possibly it could be down to a poor club and management ruining a promising career.

He’s be on his way to Liverpool for £75 million if Pools weren’t such a basket case!

Won’t be disappointed if he leaves.

However do think he has been a bit unlucky in the sense that he has never had a regular CB partner. Can’t help feeling like if he had a Mirfin type n set to him over a season or two then he may have developed into more what hhe looked capable of when he first joined

I think if he had Cannavaro or Jaap Stam playing next to him he'd look a bit better too.

He's always looked better next to better players but that's not a true test of a player's ability, whenever exposed he's always looked well out of his depth.

Craig wants his head checking for not pushing Scott out the door as soon as an offer came in. I'm starting to think there is a curse on Pools that Scott Harrison will never leave, and every time we try he'll come back worse.

Maybe it's his negotiating tactic, make his suitor somehow believe others are interested so that we don't have to pay his bus fair to get rid.

Never said it would make him look better, I said it may have helped him develop more than he has if he had a good, experienced player next to him on a regular basis

I am sure Mad John will have the stats, but from memory I don’t think Collins was playing much by that point?

Yes, started alongside Collins in season we just managed to stay up, courtesy of Jack Compton and beating Morecambe. Collins was finished by then, though he was never that good anyway, hence the poor league position, unless it was playing alongside Hartley that made Collins look good

I never really thought that Collins and Nelson gelled that well. Certainly not in the way that Nelson and Westwood formed a good partnership. I put it down to the n being too similar.

Am I reading this right "enquiries from the football league" Fuck me if that's true I feel sorry for the league clubs that are intrested in him, They can have him, One of the worst defenders pools have ever have in my opinion.
