Me and our lass just walked home from the Marina....up Church Street then into York Road/Victoria Road!!!!
Deserted!!!!
Loons and Yateseys....another World....fucking bouncing!!!!
50 meters of Hartlepool....and that was it!!!!
Got half way up Grange Road before we got wished a Happy New Year....(from people our own age)....And tell kids this and they won't believe you!!!! banghead

Aye ! strange one that, what with full employment in a country that is apparently booming. NYE has been on the decline for around 50 years or so. Blackhall last night just a few fireworks between 11.55 and 1230 and then it was just like a normal night. I think you can just sense the unfriendliness and bitterness on the streets and in the pubs these days, no real sense of togetherness or community. The majority of people in this country , particularly us up North, have been battered over the last 40 years and it is beginning to show in their behaviours. Though to be fair, technology in the noughties has changed the way we all live and younger people live totally different lives to our parents, whereas our generation lived more a less the same lives as our parents, going down the pub, watching and playing football etc, the young have totally different lifestyles nowadays , which is just as well the wages they get paid and the price of a pint.

Don't worry though Teresa says you will feel proud in 2018.

Give it a rest. New Year has been going down the pan for years. In many ways it's a pain in the arse (unlike Xmas) spoiled by fuckwits pised out of their minds over the years.
