Well if Pools have really turned the corner , a game against team struggling in 3rd bottom position couldn't of come at a better time. Given that all our wins on the road have come against teams below us ( 3 of them in bottom 4) then this game at Chester should be the ultimate test of where we are at exactly in the grand scheme of things , and what lays ahead in next couple of months , when we have away games at teams below us such as Barrow , Fylde and Eastleigh , even bloody clueless Halifax are above us now , having recently beat Chester 4-0.

You would of thought on paper nothing less than a draw at Chester would be criminal. Lets hope wily old John McCombe isn't playing, physically he dealt with our forward line with ease earlier in the season, but has the turning speed of a bin motor on manoeuvre and is susceptible to pace. If he is playing take note Harrison.

We should expect nothing less than three points - they were awful up here in August. How we conspired to let them have a point still mystifies me, although Harrison's slip obviously didn't help. It represents a great chance for an away win.

I was on that mini bus. We didn’t get into the club and they claimed we needed ID due to Welsh liscensing laws.
I wrote a strongly worded letter to their supporters club the next day and still have the apologetic reply.

We need to find out the exact location of the club house as that will tell us if it is governed by English or Welsh licensing regulations. I still think he was been told a porkie.

Fascinating but it seems the pitch is in Wales but the entrance and part of the club offices are in England according to one source but another (wikipedia) says the whole of the ground is in England with the rear of the west stand in Wales.

I am still no wiser!!!

Just see which parts of the ground have the most passion. Probably the only way to really know.

The licensing laws are now the same, they used to differ years ago, no Sunday drinking.

Yes they were closed on a Sunday. On Sundays my dad with 6 of us in a Mini used to drive from Bala to just over the border where there was a pub open. A quick 6 pints then back to Bala.

Did win a Freight Van Trophy game there once though, so that's a good sign.

I remember the game there in the season we went 13 games or so without scoring a goal. Two dreadful sides, we got a penalty and we thought the goal drought was coming to an end, we missed, ended 0-0, and the goal drought continued for several more games.

Good day out though, travelling up from Swindon via Newport on scenic Mid Wales line, changing at Crewe. Shit ground though, built on the cheap.

Will the commentary be in English or Welsh?
Or will it move between the languages depending where the ball is on the pitch?

A fydd y sylwebaeth yn Gymraeg neu'n Saesneg?
Neu a fydd yn symud rhwng yr ieithoedd yn dibynnu lle mae'r bêl ar y cae?
