Is there anything the Football League can learn from the mess JPNG made here in regard to whatever checks they do before people buy clubs?

I know the club and the Trust have far more pressing issues on their plates at the moment but surely when a club is almost completely destroyed like ours has been then lessons need to be learnt for the benefit of others too?

I think about 20 other clubs were destroyed or nearly destroyed before us, and others are being destroyed as I type. Supporters Direct was the Government response to this, though more of a managing the situation rather than the solution to the problem.

Its the way of the world unfortunately , especially in the UK at the moment, what is happening in football mirrors what is happening in life itself. Shark infested waters with people out to make a fast buck. As I said earlier, a lot of these people haven't the money, that is why they invest as consortiums not individuals. Ernie Ord, Vince Barker, Hornsey and Smart had real money, albeit not much of it compared to some other clubs chairman , but they didn't need to get 7 or 8 of their mates to put in 50k each and then secure a loan against it.

As we speak the FA is currently taking Wembley FC to court over the club logo that they had no problem with 2 years ago when the design was patented.

The clubs volunteer run and any court costs will probably bankrupt them.

If the FA is prepared to do this, then it doesn't bode well for helping other clubs with poor owners.

In the world we live in now, with the Premier and Sky etc, I don't think the FA give a flying fook about the likes of Hartlepool, Wembley FC or leagues like the Northern League. In the past they needed grassroots to feed the passion for football at the top, TV and technology has now filled in that void.

A good example of this has been what I see as the potentially quick demise of Womens football, which the FA are keen to promote, buts its quite clear they are happy with it being a Premier League of exclusive clubs rather than the likes of Notts Co and Yeovil putting teams out.

Spot on this. You can see in sky’s coverage they build up to premier league with an hour n half. Championship can get 45 mins to an hour and anything below say 15 mins of build up. It’s almost like they lament showing it. Although I do think they’d do a good job if they got women’s football as they do well with other women’s sport like netball. Just nobody cares about anything other than the premier league or the race to it...

It’s because of the Premier League and the money that filters down arseholes like Coxall want to get their grubby mits on clubs like ours. Putting yourself in a role and paying yourself five figures a month is nice work if you can give yourself it.

I saw Accringtons accounts the other day and they had a £3million plus turnover, staggering when you consider the gates they get. It’s little wonder lower league football attracts the wrong type of people with all of that money floating about. The surely have to do more to stop it?

The day will come when there will be a Premiership of 10 teams and that'll be it. It'll be sports as 'entertainment' with European matches thrown to bulk out the season. It's all about the money.

Don't forget the World Cup with 124 teams making it to the final stages out of the 195 who entered at the group stage :angry-screaming:
