....’I need a makeover and haircut -
should I part my hair on the left or right and get rid of these 1980’s curtains?

I am sure that Harrison is fundamentally a decent man - and, in all probability a guy who is far from comfortable with his/ our current predicament. I bet his cornflakes tasted like cardboard this morning and that he is now under immense pressure - at home and work. His life has gone from one of comfortable success in Wales to a living nightmare in the North East.

We have little idea as to the constraints under which he is working (we only learnt of the issues that Hignett was facing after he'd been lambasted on here and was finally unceremoniously dumped) - just how many of the players did Craig choose to sign - Pirlo nailed it yesterday with his photo of the black jumper.

I was worried about Harrison as long ago as the South Shields friendly - mind, I thought that Franks was awful that day and he has gone some way to proving me wrong. And I have been guilty of screaming obscenities at him for his woeful game management but........................

Our club is in crisis. Personal abuse is facile. Constructive and positive support is crucial. Ideas are needed.

So, shoot me down - why not get rid of at least one of the useless coaches and bring in an 'old hand' to help Craig through to the end of the season? John Hughes would be awesome, but a pipedream....

Let's just stop the personal abuse (funny though it is) and, yes, I've gone soft.

Funny!?

It's material that makes monkeybutt look like a Perrier Award winner.

Yeah awful patter, sorry PJ just desperate to lighten what are possibly THE darkest days in the clubs history - so far that is - who knows what is to come in the new year? I've just about given up on constructivity I'm afraid and I suggested that Harrison needed an experienced assistant long before he appointed his equally inept sidekick buddy.

I have previously acknowledged that Harrison is doubtless a nice guy but no-one forced him to apply for a job that was likely result in him being left well outside his comfort zone. Also, the owners cannot boast that he had one of the biggest playing budgets in this desperate league and then meekly accept the current shocking situation after he has squandered it . It is increasingly evident that no-one at the club is listening anyway.

Football is a results-based business I'm afraid and Harrison is now failing badly - it is probably best for his own sake that he is removed from the pressure-cooker/spotlight before he ends up in the dark place that Higgy found himself in a few months back.

Last week Harrison threw a Christmas party for 25 vulnerable children, which were selected by their schools. They were given Christmas presents and and night out fully funded by Harrison himself. This whole "I'm sure Harrison is a nice man" stuff is a huge understatement. Harrison is potentially the kindest and most compassionate manager we've ever had. Through this one act alone, he's done more for the people of Hartlepool than anyone else in the club has done in a long time.

Fact remains though that his first job is to win football matches, and he isn't doing that. I'll support him for as long as he is our manager, but I doubt that will be much longer.

Very nice post phil

The only thing worse than pools at the moment is the terrible banter of the opening post.

I agree shit craic, the board did need another Harrison thread mind.

If true about the charity night then that's great but it doesn't make one but of difference to how badly the club is performing under him.
