When I was at an age when I knew Santa wasn't rich and couldn't bring me everything I wanted, I mentioned to Mam and Dad what I would like etc, and they passed it onto Santa. However on Xmas day I did get a Racing bike as an extra present (Bankrupt stock from somewhere probably). I immediately hid my disappointment as it was a touring bike (weighed a ton and had big mudguards and a parcel shelf etc). To this day I've never told Dad about it!! On the plus side as my mates had lightweight bikes I did get fitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's everyone elves story?

As a kid all I wanted was a Tin Can Alley i banged on about it for long enough so on xmas morning i sizes up all my presents and there was one looking like the exact size.

I left it till last and was devastated when I ripped off the paper to find Turn The Terrible Tank !

My first footy strip , around 1971, off my nana and grandad. Wanted an Arsenal one and they got me a ManURE one. FFS! it wasn't as though strips were complicated in those days. My second strip was in 1974, the light blue and white striped with the red triangle badge, from the sports shop that was were Mariners fish shop is now. That was a belter , never ever saw anyone else with one, even at the match.

Many moons ago, Xmas morning and to my disgust my mother revealed she’d bought me a ‘car coat’ with fur collar, a cap to go with it and driving gloves.
Ffs. I was 8, wanted a train set and we didn’t even have fecking car. Still pisses me off. I looked like a mini motoring correspondent.

Cracking present that Yubep , If you use them that is, otherwise it could be just another gadget that clutters up the kitchen that never gets used, like my juice machine, or a coffee machine, blender , bread maker etc.

I wanted a sega megadrive but my parents got me a Super Nintendo.. Absolutely gutted on the day but turned out to be a cracking console and probably better IMO.

That happened to me when I got a Scrambler instead of a Chopper bike in the mid 70s. I was the odd one out in our streets gang, but all the other kids marvelled at my bike and wanted one like it. It was a cross between the Chipper ( which was a bike for smaller younger kids) and the Chopper , that was the bike of choice for real wannabee 10 year old hard knocks , who were just starting to take an interest in girls.
