This could be unfair but some reason I’ve always imagined that your house stinks.

Plenty must manage to kick the habit as it seems massively less common these days. I think I read before that in 1974 50% of men in the UK smoked which is fairly staggering really but now the number is down to around 15%. It’s strange going out for a pint here and people being able to smoke in pubs. I’d kind of got used to being to have a few beers and come home without smelling like an ashtray. It’s strange as well that you weren’t that conscious of smoking in pubs before the ban its was just the norm but walk into a bar abroad now where it’s allowed and it’s the first thing you noticed.

I am non Muslim so no I don’t. I’m aware you’re of the level of intelligence and ignorance to not actually know what is going on in this region so I’ll cut you some slack.

Believe it or not the UAE (where Dubai is) and Qatar are different countries. Qatar is under blockade from four Arab neighbours (including the UAE and Saudi Arabia) at the moment a main reason for this is firmly believed is as it’s seen as too progressive, modern and tolerant. It’s not like Dubai where any public showing of affection like holding hands with your wife can lead to trouble. I have seen cross dressers and men wearing make up here which I didn’t expect. It’s still got a long way to go in some respects, although things have improved a lot it still doesn’t look much fun being a construction worker, but it’s certainly more liberal than the UAE and a few hundred years more liberal than Saudi. You are just asked to be respectful in the way you dress and behave, again nothing is imposed in terms laws it’s just a request for modesty. They are hosting a World Cup here 5 years from now so they can’t be to be any other than progressive.
