What's it about?

You'd think the Bunker would have a thread for things you've just watched.

You are right Snowy, it was a brilliant programme. The tank built was virtually an exact replica of a mk 4 W.W 1 tank.
In February 1918 West Hartlepool won a competition for investing the most money in War Bonds. The prize was a mk 4 tank called Egbert, which was brought to the town and was on display for many years. The amount of money raised was approx. £2.5 million ,which in today's value is about £150 million. This was a staggering amount of money and must have taken a huge amount of effort. Certainly something for us to remember when the centenary arrives.

I went in the one at Bovington, that they climbed into during the documentary and luckily one of the staff gave us the full story. Really worth a visit.

I suspect this is the wrong question Mr Snowy, as I'm sure Mr Butt will have a puerile response!!!!!
