Thats the spirit !

I think i'll wait until the semi's before making a decision  .

Seriously we should p*ss this, good chance of playing teams in leagues below us, probably only face team from our own league in quarters or semi's. As long as we avoid Dover, Ebbsfleet, Bromley, Maidenhead, Aldershot, we should be okay :angry-tappingfoot:

We seem to struggle against part time teams and teams on fake pitches and grass and teams with good ball players and strong teams and fit teams and teams good at set pieces....

If we can just avoid that!

 We need to play Halifax at some point then.

This comp could save our season, so don't want to hear any of this concentrating on the league bol*ocks. Imagine someone like yourself, going down to London for the weekend, possibly taking the wife and kids, watching pools at Wembley for the first time, winning our first credible trophy.

Jesus , Mary and Joseph, surely this is not beyond even Hartlepool United.

a competition treated by many clubs the same way as the checkatrade is for div.1 and 2 clubs. if pools play their strongest side , put some effort in and have some luck with the draw a final appearance is more than possible.

The way they do the final day how devalues it further. Sharing Wembley with three other teams is a shit idea. Do you reckon anyone sits through both games? You’d need to remortgage the house to spend all day in there it’s about 15 bar for a burger and a pint. We aren’t good enough to have the luxury of not taking this seriously so hopefully we give it a go, it would be just Pools luck for our first Wembley appearance to be in this non league shit fest. Everything about Wembley is about maximising revenue it boils my piss, why not let the Vase and Trophy finalists have the limelight to themselves its one game.

Yeah it’s seeded as well I think a chip so we’re pretty much guaranteed a team from a lower division.

Just planning my holidays next year. I see that the Champions League final is in Athens so I could tie a week's family holiday in Greece in with it. Alternatively the Europa league final is in Lyon which is drivable.

Surely the early stages of the competition are regionalised ?

That would rule out the teams from Kent that have already stuffed us this season.

Think its regionalised up until the round we are in now, then its a free for all.

I agree, and I'm sure the supporters of the 4 clubs agree as well, but due to low crowds , the FA (bast*rds) were thinking of pulling the plug on the Trophy and in particular the Vase being played at Wembley. This 2 finals on same day was only way of preserving the finals being played at Wembley rather than Villa Park etc.

we have as much chance of getting to this final as we have of getting out of this pisspoor league this season.

and thats me being realistic not doom and gloom.

last time i watched us play workington was about 1970 night match
good banter with their lot
no segregation those days just stood toe to toe.

happy days

when football was a mans game

and the only tactics were stop their best player/s and score more goals than them

Aye ! Think you're right there Mr Greyhound. To win a cup at any level, you need in your team, a larger than life, natural born leader, hard man type player who can drive the rest on. I don't see anyone remotely like that in our team.

not difficult to get to the final as a lot of better sides who are looking seriously for promotion from all divisions play a weakened side in the trophy. no stand out sides like lincoln this season and a bit of luck in the draw can help too. bit like the checkatrade for non league clubs.

It’s not the 70’s the game has moved on, ‘hard men’ would get sent off. We just need good players to improve in general. York won it last year and they were garbage.
