You reach down to the bottom of the salad drawer to pick up a cucumber and your fingers go straight into the mouldy get.

I'm also allergic to cucumber, as well as melon, apples and bananas.

Cornichon, kings of the fridge but probably not suitable for the allergic contingent.

I'm okay with melon (ish) and apples, but Bananas are a problem, as well as a few other fruits and salads.

I want to know where all the oily stuff on one of the shelves in my fridge comes from. All it has on are jars of pickles, yet oil accumulates about a week after it is washed off.

Are you feeling any ill effects? Like the doctors telling you you only have six weeks to live?

I'm ok, as I haven't ingested any of the oil.

Melon, apples, bananas, oranges, strawberries and nuts with skin on all make my throat close up.

Parents used to say I was making it up (as I fine with fruit juices, banana smoothies and roasted/salted nuts etc) to get out of eating fruit etc but was only about 2 years ago I found our it was a real condition (Oral Allergy Syndrome)

Thankfully processing the fruit into juice gets rids of whatever causes it same as roasting the nuts etc.
