The return game against league leaders Dover FC in a few weeks time will put our progress into perspective.

This season, Dover FC with a squad of 21, including 18 new free transfer signings, hit the ground running and beat us in the first match.
The National League contains strikers who are on strike when it comes to putting the ball into the net which has contributed greatly to our unbeaten run. Dover appear to be the exception with a goal difference of 14 compared to the next best at 6 and whilst they are not exactly running away with the league, they are the yardstick by which our improvement can be measured. For me, it's a game not to miss!

Given the nature of the this League they’ll probably not be top by the time we play them it’s seems to change every other week. So I wouldn’t single any game out I think all of the games are competitive and tight, we have nothing to fear we need to worry about how we can improve ourselves particularly in the final third. Look at Wrexham they are right up there and they seem to just grind games out the way we have over the last 13 matches. The biggest game is the next one against Aldershot (another team who have been top) especially as they occupy the last play off spot and a win would overtake them.

The result will mean jack shit. It's just another match. If we start that game we'll be have these bloody silly measuring stick matches every week. Take each game as it comes.

I tried that in the mid-80s and it was terrifying. I had a hallucination that included Pools appointing Tommy Docherty's son as manager but he had the eyes of Rasputin.

For an iconic English town, Dover has always looked a bit of a shithole each time I've been through.

It's been given the title of Worst Place To Live In England 2017

That made me think about this:

Didn't know there was a video - skip to 2.10 for the best verse.

I'm shocked. It's as if neither of you give a toss about Vera Lynn. Dover's cliffs and bluebirds won the war you know.

If you are going all the way to Dover on 9th December, why not nip over to Calais through the tunnel and stock up with booze?

The Calais Wine Superstore will pay for the 35 minute tunnel crossings from/to Folkestone if you commit to spending £250.

The wine is half the UK price so check out this great offer at https://www.calaiswine.co.uk/travel-off ... re-you-buy
