It's fairly amazing given his record since Huddersfield, which is staggeringly shit, that he got this one to be honest.

He will end up as a pundit on TV, all the failed Managers do.
No sympathy after what he did at Kilmarnock bailed out too go too Bury and left them in the s*** with all his poor signings.

I can't see that to be honest, our results since the middle of August have been very good but we're doing things nicely off the radar, even in our own division I'm sure losing the lead at home twice last week was all about just keeping us nicely in stealth mode away from that top six we're we'd be getting loads of attention had we'd hung on. Great thinking, very clever Mr Harrison.

Me neither PJ. It was said tongue in cheek , I'm sure you knew that. Like you say, under the radar is best. Everything cooking very nicely at the moment. On field far from perfect, but I don't think you need to be in this league. People keep going about " one day we will get punished , by a striker who can put ball in the net", but I don't think there is one in this league.. Just hope we don't spoil it by doing an after The Lord Mayors show v Aldershot, like we did v Eastleigh. We need to get cracking with our home form , so onwards and upwards.

Been found out. Just like Martin Gray at York who seems to be working his magic there, one point from 3 games.

Gray has started believing he could do no wrong. His tactics over the last 12 months have been the long punt to a big man up front and when you are winning its bearable but when you arent its fucking abysmal. He has lost his safety net of being at a club with 3 promotions under his belt now, thus giving him some leeway for crap results, and already the York fans are seeing how fallible he is. Given time and an endless supply of money he may turn them round but time is something the last few York managers have not had. If they can sack Mills after an FA Trophy win then I cant see Gray getting much longer unless they pick up quickly.

York are an utter Shambles (me ribs)

Sacking Gary Mills to employ Martin Gray is like swapping a good non league manager for a 999g pack of mince, a really thick pack of mince as well. Really, really thick mince .

Darlington's supporters have done a magnificent job to get them back to where they are, the truly odious Gray reckons it's all down to him. It is a bit down to him obviously but just about every football league sized club who's gone to that level has come back to a decent one very quickly because they have a fan base, they didn't all have an egotistical, boss eyed, clogging, deluded little fucktard running the show. I really feel sorry for York and am pleased for Darlo, you'll be way better in the long run.

You only have to look at Salford to see where a couple of well backed thugs can get you.

its all about money nowadays even in non league. has anyone over the last few years actually gained promotion or have they just bought it.

They'll say the same about Pools if we go up.

A proper fan base has something to do with it as well (though not in Forest Green Rovers case, obviously). No surprises that the likes of Bristol Rovers and Lincoln City got out of the division when some National League sides have average attendances that would be nothing to write home about for North-East teams two or three divisions further down the pyramid.

You can probably 'buy' promotion lower down the pyramid but I'm not sure about the National League. Yeah a big budget helps but you need other elements and a decent manager. Lincoln for example last year didn't but the League and the likes of Eastleigh have tried to do it and so far failed. We started the season with a team on paper that was full of signings that were regarded as very good at this level and for the first six games we are abysmal. We can get in as many players as like on good money if they don't do the ugly side of the game well and play as a team then you'll struggle.

took luton a few seasons with top attendances to get back into the football league. if it wasn,t for money where would fleetwood, crawley , newport and stevenage be. watch out for salford next season after they get promoted.
