I was visiting friends who are Huddersfield Town supporters this weekend and went to the match. The performance of the home team was superb and could have won by an even larger margin than 2-1. Ignore Match of the Day analysis!
However the highlight for me was at half time when Town were 2-0 up. I was walking along the concourse by the bars etc when a woman said to her mate "this is better than going to Hartlepool and getting a good spanking" .....i couldn't believe my ears and introduced myself. Seems like Pools are a bit of a bogie team for them.

What was also helpful is they play in blue and white stripes so it feels like watching Pools. Also they were formed in 1908......spooky!

The last time we played Huddersfield was 6-3-2012 in Division 1. We lost 1-0. 5 years later we are in the Conference playing Sutton Utd and they are beating Man Utd 2-1.

:(

There but for fortune eh?

All Pools needed was a 24,000 capacity ground and a chairman who trousered £350 million for his business and that could have been us.

Small margins isn't it?

I blame the council and financial fair play.

And long diagonal balls.

Is a butterfly flap a special sort of spanking? I can't keep up with the pervy terminology nowadays.

I thought it was the new post-Brexit genital measurement of minisculicity, to replace the continental "midgie's dick".

As in, "Borthwick had an empty net, but he sliced it and it went over by a butterly flap".

If I had known I would have called this post subject "spanking" as it's the only word in the post anyone is interested in.......
