Icicle works have some cracking tunes and are still touring. Seen them a couple times in recent years and hopefully in Newcastle next month. Once got Ian McNabb to sign my arm whilst pissed around 10 years ago!

Seen them at Leicester University back in 86. An excellent live band they were too.

I was a bit young to see them back in the day but they still put a great show on, almost a 3 hour set at the cluny in Newcastle a couple years ago.

Great band, seen them 4 or 5 times as a group and also saw McNabb at the Studio a while back. Consistently excellent.

Inspirational.
I reckon I must have played that song well over 1000 times since its release; the last time was maybe a week ago.
Great song on one of the finest debut albums ever made. FACT.

One thing I really appreciate about that song is it has a proper ending. It must have been a huge temptation for the producer to fade after a fourth or fifth "Wheeeeen looove...".

The Icicle works, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Mighty Wah and The Teardrop explodes ruled the early 80s.

Not that I was old enough to remember. No way.

Not on in Newcastle, but they are on at The Forum in Darlington on the 24th.

That kinda stuff gets banned these days. They call it cultural appropriation.
