Got his autograph twice at pools in games during the 70s but can not remember him being a nice person considering he was a recent world cup winner at that time  Player wise he was up with the very best that ever played but always in the shadow of George Best at M.U.

A bloke who has completely turned his back on his North East roots, rid himself of the accent and sees his home as Manchester, unlike Jack who embraced it.

I think that's partly why him and Jack fell out even when their mother was dying he was nowhere to be seen. You wonder how much Munich affected him as a person I remember reading Jackies book years ago and he talks about picking him up from the airport after it all and him being so withdrawn and unprepared to talk about it. It's got to be traumatic experience that not many people can say they've lived through.

I got to shake his hand when I was about 12.

One of the greats.
