A lad I know went to watch a match in the very first qualifying round of the FA cup. Then he went to the next round to watch the winners. And so on, with the intention of going all the way through to the final following the winners of each tie.

If I can afford it next year I might give it a go.

Good idea that, doesn't matter where you start either and with the earlier stages regionalised it shouldn't involve too much travel until later on on the competition.

Does it have to be the winners of the previous game you watch? Imagine Pools got a juicy cup tie and you had to watch Newport vs Barrow instead.

He earns a canny wedge in London doing something financial. I don't think a couple of hundred for tickets would faze him. Might even get freebies through work.

It depends who was in the semi final, now they're at Wembley they rarely sell out with recent ones being played with nearly 20,000 empty seats.

I used to love semi finals as a kid played at the likes of Villa Park some amazing games and brilliant atmospheres moving them to Wembley was properly shit and one of the main reasons the competition has lost some of its magic.

So I just looked at the Wembley events calendar, and between football (M and F), rugby union, rugby league, boxing, concerts, and sundry other events, not to mention 26 Tottenham Hotspur Matches in the short term, I don't think dropping two games will make a ha'porth of difference.

Mr PIN when it gets to the latter stages or you're following a team with more support for the ticket allocation, then get in touch with the local press, and hey presto a ticket will be found. This has been done before.

The FA cup became a farce when they decided to play semi-finals at Wembley, that must be a right ball ache for teams outside of London travelling back and forth to London.

I had a mate that supports Wigan. He went to the semi final the year they won the FA Cup, because he didn't think they'd get to the final and he'd not seen them at Wembley before.

Obviously they won the semi, but he couldn't afford to go to the final, and missed one of the biggest days in their history. If that game had been held somewhere closer he might have been able to go to both.

That was one of the stand out games. Wigan v Sheffield United, 20 empty seats at Wembley looks awful. Surely that game should have been at Old Trafford? 70,000 is pretty much ful then and you're not asking the winners to fork out travel and hotels in London again a few weeks later. Even the 'big' clubs are getting like I'm sure Manchester City failed to sell a load of tickets last year. Other than recouping money for the FA I don't see a valid argument for staging semi finals at Wembley.

Last years semi with chelsea and man city was on a 5pm kick on a Sunday, on the weekend of the London marathon.

City fans had no way of getting a train back home, and they got hammered in the press for not selling out their full allocation.

The FA dont care about the fans at all when it comes to these games.

Two managers and an assistant manager? I think Scooty looks strangely shiny compared to the rest of the behind the scenes mob.

George McLaughlin (kitman) looks sinister.

Me too. I was just pointing out we can play matches anywhere without having to give a shit about Wembley's finances.

Julio Arca must really like the region. No repeat of his 2004 FA Cup performance against us, please!

Julio Arca married a lass from Sunderland, hence why he moved to Middlesbrough, to stay close to home and still lives here now.

I sold Arca a mini during a brief spell as a car salesman, it was for his lass.
