Was reading on the BBC news page the guys behind the War Horse play have now done a play about the Monkey hanging legend. Should be a cameo in there for H'angus ! PS. What a great week of results, pity the crossbar at Wrexham got in the way of a clean sweep of what had been the top 3 placed teams prior to the Daggers game.

Just returned from a holiday in Cornwall and on the middle Saturday, Bristol were playing rugby against the locals. Sitting in a Penzance pub that evening and chatting with some of the visiting fans, the conversation turned to footie and I was asked the usual question, "How come you follow Pools?" It amazes me how the mention of Pools opens the door to many and varied conversations. The barman, who seemed an intelligent bloke (obviously!), joined in, saying that he had read a book about the legend and mentioned Corvan who was a new name to me. I was quite impressed. As an aside, I found a Pools shirt for sale in a Penzance shop a few years ago.

I visited my brother on the Isle of Wight in May and our other halves wanted to have a look around a local Antiques and Collectables Barn. My brother had a rummage around in a box of postcards and produced the exact three postcards which appear in the article. Needless to say, I snapped them up while the sellers gave me a puzzled look as to my interest in them.

It's extremely amusing to me that most people that mention it to me seem to think I am embarrassed because of it.

I think, in my case, it's because of the accent but I believe it's fair to say that people show a genuine interest and obviously now 'follow' Pools fortunes as they continually ask/tell me about our situation.
