Right.

We have numerous devices at home that connect to our wifi. Phones laptops sky etc.

One of the lads laptop's doesn't connect though unless we turn the WiFi off and on again.

But the only device.

Any ideas why this is and what I can do about it.

No expert, but on said laptop go into settings and set Wi Fi to on, and find the internet access wifi network you're on and connect.

Already done that. As well as running it off and on again. I have also twatted it with a hammer.

The hammer bit was my next advice. How old is the laptop? Otherwise I'm sure yubep or yloop will have a proper answer.

Has laptop got an IP address assigned to it?

My laptop's on board WiFi is a bit iffy on win 10 so I've stuck a nano wireless usb stick in that u had and it's been flawless since.

Have you tried an ethernet connection? One of my P.C.'s will only work with the ethernet connection.

The laptop is retaining its connection even after the lease has expired from the router. Forgetting the network from the laptop then adding it again usually solves this in the short term. In the long term I'd consider creating a DMZ on the router with the devices that would always be on there. They'll always have the same IP then and the lease will never expire.

That's sounds right and it might work.

So what is it and how do you do it?
