Just reading a few crewe comments on twitter about Brad Walker and their fans are raving about him, calling him a class act and grateful he chose to play for them. Why do we have so many players who fail here then go on and perform much better for other clubs. We manage to sign players with decent reputations then the minute they sign for pools they just turn to shit!!. Im starting to think the club is cursed in some way or its just constantly ran poorly and had a succession of rotten managers who cant get he best out of these players. is it really that bad a place to play football? As Podge said it was sucking the life out of him, Toto couldnt wait to get away after 6 months, where does the problem lie?!.

Playing with chronic losers is always going to bring good players down

Players seem to sign for us and look half decent like Scott Harrison and we seem to just take any fight out of them

I have also thought this in the past. I've been as surprised as anyone when players move on at times when fans really aren't bothered about them leaving and they are moving to bigger better clubs and doing well.

Wish I knew why that was but if I did I could probably do a decent job of managing Pools but it could be anything from motivation (pay?), coaching, facilities, style of play.

I can't really blame any fans at the moment for getting on players backs because we are utterly hopeless at present but it also strikes me as a really awful place to play your football at the minute. As much as we'd all love to pull on the Blue and White shirt (or Pink/Grey/all Blue/all White) I doubt many of us would really fancy 90 mins at home in front of the crowd with the team playing as it is. There's no one out there getting much love.

All of that said. You can't judge a player on 5 games or so. How good did Brad look when he started playing for us? Players will generally look a bit sharper with a new challenge, although that doesn't seem to apply to us when we sign players. That could well be the fact we seem to mostly get players on their way down rather than their way up!

I've rarely heard the crowd turn nasty, I think must people are just numb to it now, last year especially it only really got naughty against barnet n that was mainly at jones and coxall. As bad as the players have been over the years the fans have Been first class home and away and I would love to see a group of players get the crowd going cos ffs we deserve it.

There was a hell of a lot of shit being thrown at players, management and owners in the town end yesterday. I think the new players are a bit shell shocked at the grief they are getting so early in the season but people have just reached the end of their tether and can't take it anymore. We go to football to let our emotions out, preferably by cheering goals and the occasional victory but we don't get that so it's anger that comes out instead! The new players and management probably don't realise the scale of the utter bollocks we've had to endure season upon season! I personally come out of games fuming most the time when we so desperately want to come out with a smile on our face. It just seems to be problem after problem these days and nothing goes right yet we all still turn up prepared to back them, then 10 mins in we see the lack of effort so go back to being pissed off with them!.
