Not his biggest fan but a mystery why he's not in the line up, how has Newton kept his place?

Did anyone see them look on his face once the third sub was made, sitting near the tunnel as I do Deverdics had a face like Thunder and I heard a bang from down the tunnel sounded like a door being punched? Deverdics came back to the bench when one of the physios went down the tunnel presumably to get him back?

On the pitch yesterday most of the players looked clueless and did not know their jobs or could be arsed. Only Cassidy , maybe Loach cold be given any credit at all for any kind of effort.

Personally I don't think there is much difference between any of our midfielders it's just a matter of choice.

Sorry but deverdics has a difference to the other midfielders we have, the lad has a good left foot and an eye for a good forward pass, not side to side or back like the rest do. He has a point, he's an attacking midfielder, the likes of woods, Hawkins, newton and to a point Featherstone don't have one. Yes Featherstone keeps the ball ticking over but if that enough?. The other three can't and don't get on the ball and dictate the game, can't tackle, don't get assists, don't score and generally offer nothing. Deverdics has a role to play on this side but clearly Harrison doesn't feel the same and I really feel sorry for the lad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Deverdics needs to be playing all the time. He is our only player capable of creating chances. He sees passes most of our midfield can't and as I've said before, he will misplace a few of those passes but the fact he sees the passes and delivers on them some of the time is 100 times better than what we have.

Featherstone also needs to stay in the team because he's best we have at what he does - ie link play from defence to the wide players or other midfielders and rarely makes mistakes/gives it away. He is more than capable of creating space for a safe pass when surrounded by three opposing players. Can't see anyone else doing that. I think some dislike him because he's a sideways and backwards kind of player half of the time but that is fine and you should chill out.

Believe me I think Featherstone is ten times the player woods, newton and Hawkins are. He needs to play alongside somebody who is attack minded and offers something different, such as deverdics!

Hawkins is an odd one. His severe lack of pace to one side, he looked a half decent player who was maturing nicely. This season he's done a Harrison (after he won Player of the Year) and gone backwards.

He runs a lot...... that's it. He doesn't stand out or catch the eye, he's just there.

The bloke must be well pissed off.

Against Chester he was having a decent game, hit the bar twice, and when Newton or Featherstone were candidates to be subbed for a more attacking player, it's him.

What happened next??

We get a free kick 25 yds out, Deverdicks specialist subject, an outstanding opportunity to win the game. Podge steps up and balloons it high over the bar

He ain't a CM though and just because he's left footed he gets stuck on the left wing where we still don't have anybody who is a natural in that position.

I'd be playing three at the back so Adams could be more attacking, which seems to be his strength. Only problem being we don't have 3 fit central defenders do we? Featherstone has done a job there previously.
