What would everyone's solution be for Saturday in terms of the team and formation? Do we go 442, do we go 451?

442

Loach
Magnay Harrison Donnelley Adams

Donaldson Featherstone Deverdics Franks

Cassidy Rodney

451

Loach
Magnay Harrison Donnelley Adams
George Featherstone

Deverdics

Donaldson Franks
Cassidy

I'd go with:

Loach
Richardson
Magnay
Donnelley
Adams

Franks
Featherstone
Hawkes (think he's on loan at the moment, might be back?)
Blackford

Cassidy
Simpson

Bit of youth and no fear.

YES YES YES, why would you play a right footed player on the left wing?, where as a two footed left winger, BINGO!

Either 4-4-2

Loach

Magnay
Donnelly
Harrison
Adams

Franks
Featherstone
Deverdics
Blackford

Cassidy
Munns (by his own admission prefers playing centrally and off a striker, so he could play a little deeper when we don't have the ball to pressure the defence and midfield and then link up with Cassidy when we have the ball)

Or a 4-2-3-1:

..........................Loach...................

Magnay....Donnelly...Harrison...Adams

..............Featherstone..Newton........

Franks.............Munns..........Deverdics

...................Cassidy.......................

Subs: Richardson, Woods, Hawkins, Donaldson, Rodney

It can't be Rodney, he was woeful on Saturday and isn't really fit. I like the idea of a front two of Cassidy and munns, with munns playing just off the front.

Of course we may have a new signing(s) by then. The rest of the team picks itself, we don't have enough defenders to change things and you may as well roll the tombola for the midfield, the outcome will be the same

There are some really strong mid fields there! Problem is there is nobody else. As I keep saying put all the names in a hat it won't make much difference.

Plenty of people have told us how good a player Munns is, we've hardly used him yet, I like the idea of him playing off Cassidy in a free role.

Anyone know if Richardson has ever played centre back? John Stones started as a right back and he hasn't done too badly!

Richardson is not even really a right back I think he's played most of his football in midfield, he did well last year when he played but his strength was with the ball, defensively he struggled.

I think playing him on the left is not his usual position, if he can chip a keeper from 30 years, he has something the rest of our players haven`t.

Ok, but wouldn't you have said the same about Walker?

Fair point, he's a big enough lad to play centre back but we're surely clutching at draws even talking about it we need a proper experienced centre back. A John Mcphail, David Mirfin, Gary Stodder type leader not a kid.

Richardson haa good height but a player at his age shouldn't be forced into new positions so I'd rather he wasn't tried there. We need to bring in another CB as our other back up (Bates) doesn't seem like is he actually go to play.

Munns' goals in preseason were both great finishes, someone that can finish like he did against Boro deserves a chance to play in a way that gets him infornt of goal. But with Amond looking like he is definitely leaving, I'd hope we bring in another striker as I'd hate think of us relying on Rodney and Oates as our only actual strikers providing support for Cassidy.

Agree with you 100% but when will we get one? We live in hopes!

Agree with Horden - considering Harrison has attempted to play wing-backs a few times, I've been really surprised not to see Kenton Richardson get game time. Thought he looked comfortable whenever I saw him last season.

I know it was only a friendly, but he was nothing short of horrific against Harrogate. Didn't put a foot right.

I imagine that's going to influence Harrison's decision somewhat.

I don't think we've ever had a player who keep the ball in the air that long.

now more than ever we need a strong CB.. even a loan signing (previous CB loans have proved excellent).

not sure if we will attract a "good" centre half just now but I also didn't think we would loose to Dover on the 1st game of the season and go onto this horrific run.

Left winger with pace and who can cross a ball. Teams played so far showed that having an effective force coming in off the wing can win you games no matter what league your in. Cassidy to provide lots of goals off the back of that

Then when Podge goes actually replacing him like for like with a goal scoring CF who knows this league. Even a hungry kid on loan wanting to push into the first team

then I will rest assured we will at least win the majority of our games going forwards and avoid back to back relegations :)

Presuming no more signings this week and that George/Oates/Laing are all out id go with...

------------------Loach--------------
Magnay--Harrison--Donnelly--Adams
---Newton---Featherstone---Woods--
------------Munns-----Deverdics---
-----------------Cassidy-------------

Narrow as fuck like but then we have no natural wide players.

Once we go 1-0 down bring Rodney on for Woods.

I'd agree with tree's team, however the quicker George is back the better. Even if he gets sent off it will be a visible indicator that we have a midfield.

Whistle would always go before it crossed the line and the ball would be hanging in the air until 2047. No way should Harrison pick him.
