Is it right the the away games on pools player will just be radio tees coverage?

Yes, it's our only option this season in order to provide broadcast quality coverage from away games. There simply isn't the facility at away grounds to support both BBC and Pools PlayerHD connections - we would need an ISDN line and the vast majority don't have one we can use.

It's not a decision we've taken lightly because we're proud of being one of the few clubs to have been doing our own coverage for the last 15 years or so but the circumstances this season mean it's the right call to link up with BBC Tees and ensure professional quality commentary.

I'm quite disappointed on a personal note because I love doing the commentaries - just means I will have to shout even louder during home games to make up for it.

Thanks for the reply Mark as always. Fair enough reasononing but the away game commentary is the main reason I pay for the service. Can't stand listening to Tees.

A bit gutted tbh.

Ivan ashe has retired and therefore tees surely has to be 100% better than last season.

Is there still a restriction for on-line commentary for the National League? In other words, if I listen to the Radio Tees online stream, will I be able to get commentary?

I was wondering the same thing - being in Hull during the week it says it's not available in my area and I'm stuck with BBC Humberside

No restrictions on Tees, even based on location, I listened to the full commentary on there on Saturday from Portugal. Pools Player was late starting and sounded like it was done over mobile phone, Tees was clearer, but the new commentator and Eddie Kyle don't quite have Mark's passion...

Even though Ashe could be cringeworthy at times I always enjoyed his and Lof's commentary (apart from the results on most occasions).
