Booked a seat in Coach F

Train turns up. 3 coaches. No D,E or F.

Apparently they forgeot it was meant to be 6 coaches.

Anway got to Manchester on time.

Journey 3.

Manchester to Cardiff. Arriva Wales.

Fucking cancelled.

Marvellous.

Now on the 11:30. Two carriages for 3 and a half hours.

And a bloke sat next to me constantly on his phone whining about his work colleagues.

Anyone mind if I twat him?

The lease on the car is for 2000 miles a month. And I dont intend to go over it.

Which I would do, every month without the trains.

I have traavelled 14,000 miles in 4 months, and driving 3000 on top of that.

But I can relax next week in the lakes. Where I know it will be sunny, and quiet.

Currently sat at Cardiff station with a tciket for the 15:50 train to manchester.

Asked if I could use it on the 14:50 and was told it wuld cost me an extra £90.

My ticket cost £38.00

I fear the journey from hell coming on.

I have 15 minutes spare to arrive at Manchester for the connection to York.

I can see whats gonna happen now.

You mock, but I was sat opposite two of them on the last down to Cardiff yesterday.

They were more boring than Madjohn going on about his love of the courteeners.

UPDATE:

A fucking lorry has crashed into the level crossing at a godforsaken place called Craven Arms, delaying the train by 30 minutes.

I am now on course to miss the connecting train to York, meaning by the time I get the following one, I miss the last train to Hartlepool.

Marvellous.

What a fucked up service this is.

The attendant on the train has just told me that there is no way they will make any time up either. and so far it hasnt.

They have told they will pay for a taxi though just now, from York to HARTLEPOOL. I wont hold my breath it will happen though.

I am loving this.

Obviously on Transpennine comedy central now, so what did I expect.

Train was meant to be departing from platform 3.

But the hull train was late.

so we were all stood on platform 3 wondering what was going on.

They announced just as our train was pulling in that it was now on platform 4.

So off to york now and the train is crawling along. All because w eare following the hull train, which was late, and has now made this one late.

Even dafter we have stopped outside leeds, even though it has about 8million platforms.

And we have stopped again. And still not in station.

Its like a fucking comedy show.

How can there not be a platform at leeds bastard station?

They do pay for a taxi home if it's not your fault from York, I only know cos I once missed the last train and lied to the mush in the station and said the train driver had the wrong destination on the front of the train (think it was before they had then digital thingies on the side of the platform).

Made it after sprinting over the bridge like someone going to meet their long lost lover.

And because the Grand Central was 5 minutes late.

I think I would have smashed the door down if I had been there.

The more I use the trains, the worse and dafter it seems to get.

Last night was a case in point.

Hull train was late by 20 minutes. York train was on time. Both were then due to leave at ame time.

They let the hull train go first, and the York had to go slow following it.

By the time both got to Leeds they are both 20 minutes late, doubling the amount of people with a valid complaint.

Are they run by complete idiots these firms?

had one the other week from London on Grand Central.

It was the last train of the day, and got delayed by 20 minutes, as they were waiting for a member of staff who needed to get him to complete their shift.

But they were late. So the train thought it a good idea to make their customers late as well.

worked in passenger transport most of my life and the big change came when you were called a customer and not a passenger. even the name of your licence to drive a bus was changed from passenger service vehicle driver to passenger carrying vehicle driver. the word service became a dirty word as its not a service now bus or train it,s a profit making industry . if it dosn,t pay and the council wont or can,t subsidize it then it will be cut. buses and trains are a complete mess in this country and journeys like you,ve encountered are probebly the norm nowadays. without a return to nationalize these industries without the top end waste they created things will not get better.
