Can't blame the selling teams when moneybags are willing to spend that amount. It adds to the excitement for the bairns I suppose since they get excited by big numbers. Some grown folk seem to think the more you pay the better the player will be. The bizarre thing is some of the more expensive ones are English.

It's not really Sky is it? They might have started it but I doubt even they are happy with how mad it's gone as they paying far more now and they don't have a monopoly over it anymore.

The Premier League say what you like is huge across the Globe and most of this money is coming from abroad and the money it also generates must be off the scale. Consider that 50% of all wages are taxed for a start  if you've been anywhere in South East Asia for example you will get some idea of how big it is, far bigger than it is here they have channels with almost blanket coverage. Sit in a bar in Bangkok or Bali on a Saturday night and you don't know which game to watch.

It is vulgar and mad the way transfer fees have gone but it's all relative they are only at the level they are because of the money the League generates. I reckon if Pools were in the Premier League we'd still sell our best player for £800,000.

It's a mystery how it is so big.

Cos it's pretty average fare. At best.

Because of all the propaganda sky sports news spew out and the pundits gushing themselves when Pogba completes a 5 yard pass, it's easy to see why thick people will have the blinkers on when watching it.

Don't see the point of this indignation at all. I don't stay awake at night worrying about how much film stars, F1 drivers or big lumps from the NFL are earning. Ditto footballers.

I'd sooner they had the money than all of the invisible currency speculators, traders in derivatives and other parasites leeching from the armpit of capitalism.

And anyway, how many of you would say no to a massive win on Euromillions?

Totally agree ! but I think what people are pissed off about is the fact those sort of fees contribute to higher admission prices, food prices , everything to do with football basically, and it makes the man on the street who pays to watch football, who is earning probably the same as he was 20 years ago, more disillusioned and fed up

I will never pay for any Murdoch product. Even feel grubby watching in the pub.
