Its all about the money I suppose. Don't see the point from a playing point of view. Would of been okay , had we also arranged a friendly with a Div 1 or 2 club, but on its own, a thumping off a Championship club serves no purpose, other than what I originally said a 4000 gate.

May get a few quid in but like you say it's just an exhibition game, thankfully Defoe's gone so they're all championship standard players.

Totally agree, one to avoid.

as money is important, i fail to see why don't try to get home friendlies against all 3 of the so called big 3. it's always a big crowd even for a meaningless friendly which could be vital in running club/signings/wages

I think even the Sunderland fans are getting a bit tired of this one. Cant see them coming down in the numbers they have done in the past , plus they're probably more cheesed off than us at the moment.

Aye, and get rid of all the left over pies, chips, beer and lager from last season.

They've arranged it to give you something to moan about. Friendly. Crackpots.

Blyth playing Sunderland Under 23's instead.

Which means Sunderland won't make 11 subs and absolutely pagger us with the kids like before. Might have a chance for once!

Remember the night we beat them for once, some new signing called Howard scored, after that , was expecting him to get at least 20 that season, alas it was not to be ....
