Watched it last night....fascinating!!!!
I even recognised 'old Lormor' the newsagent!!!!

But why in the olden days did people from Hartlepool sound like Yakkers???? sctatchinghead

probebly because most left. the words unemployment and hartlepool go together like fish and chips. have loads of relatives but no one left in the town anymore. like my old man they moved away because of work. i,ve met plenty who say they used to have relatives back in hartlepool who no longer live there. a lot got on their bikes before norman tebbitt was ever heard of.

Not many moved 5 miles north, there were plenty of jobs in the pits, but of course that was hard work :animals-dogrun:
