Well after almost 2 months without footy, I can honestly say I've never felt so unenthused by it. Absolutely zero feelings on the new season at this stage. I can't build any interest in pools. Normally I'd have poured over the fixtures (ok national league aren't out yet) and looked forward to pre season results and fixtures. This year. Nothing. Am I at the end of my life as a football fan?.. or have Coxall and his cronies finished my 25 year plus love affair with the game? I hope things change in the next month, otherwise I'll need to find something else to take over my Saturdays.

Is this a wind up or are are you suffering from non league snobbery....?
Sorry, I can't take this seriously.

When you're sick of watching Pools get beat week in week out , you're sick of life.

Pull up your big boy pants and get on with it. If you wanted sunshine and rainbows and endless win streaks get a Chelsea shirt and skysports subscription. Watching pools play bromley will always trump Saturday shopping or watching bloody snooker or whatever tv shows at 3pm on Saturdays.

In some ways this is potentially the most interesting season we've had for about ten years. Loads of new places and grounds to visit, and a genuine chance of being involved around the top end of the table. We've got to embrace this and get behind the team.

I can see where the OP is coming from, but most of us feel like that every close season, but we always end up going back for more. Lets face it, it wasn't much fun playing the same old teams in league 2 year after year either. This is a reality check, like has been said, may as well get on with it , make best of it and enjoy. Hopefully we are just passing through and will come back stronger for it.

Maybe my views will change when the fuxtyres get released.

Maybe it'll be when we finally see the end of coxall - share sold on and he no longer has anything to do with pools full stop.

Maybe it'll be when the financial situation is crystal clear.

Who knows. For the time being, I'm enjoying watching the cricket.

Some oathetic responses on here like. As usual.

Is there only me left that respects all views?

All he is saying is that he isnt missing the football.

Doesnt that just make him normal?

Especially as there is cricket on, and the Lions tour?

And music.

And politics.

You can never have enough Politics.

Or we could just have threads like, name your starting 11. yawn1

The Lions tour is about as competitive as the SPL.

They will lose 3-0.

Perhaps he should have used an analogy

If you can get an analogy out of that, go for it.

He's like an old sea dog who has been worn down by repeated voyages on a rusting hulk that seemed more likely to be sold for scrap than make another worthwhile trip. He's become so disillusioned that he hasn't noticed the captain is being thrown overboard, work is continuing in the dry dock and that new seas and a series of unfamiliar ports just hoved into view.

Once he hears the anchor being lifted and looks at the charts he'll jump aboard faster than you can shout, "Roger the cabin boy!"

Not to mention the sight of Master Bates taking the new ratings in hand...

Can I quickly mention Seaman Staines before some miserable get reminds us that it all an urban myth? I'm sure there wasn't a ship's cook called Fanny Batter either.

Oooh I like it.
Anyway, how's about....I've been ashore for two months now between ships and just don't fancy going back. Normally, I'd be trying to find out what ports we'd be visiting on my next trip, but I'm thinking of calling it a day now.
Do I blame the c**t of a Captain...... That said, I'll see what the trips are and decide.
Which roughly translated means....I'll be signing on for another trip.

The same apathy happened to me. I've not been for 2 seasons and to be honest I sometimes feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. There are other things to do on a Saturday too.
