I think we are screwed this time, we just drop and drop and drop and have no one to turn a loss into a win anymore now Thomas is not firing on all cylinders.

Newport will survive, hats off to them they gambled big time and wow has it paid off so its us or Cheltenham.

I think our time has come.

23rd I just don't see enough quality and tempo or genuine urgency.

Too many platitudes and guff being spoken by Jones and players about what we'll do and how we'll play and turn up but not the actual physical manifestation

I think too many of the players are mentally weak.

I have no confidence at all

I did this predictor thing and this is what I got:

I think 48 points will guarantee survival regardless. I got us as a draw at Orient, win vs. Barnet, draw at Cheltenham and a defeat by Donny.

DWLL for me. I think it'll hinge on how Cheltenham do in their other games. It's hard to see them getting much against Blackpool or Portsmouth but Grimsby on Monday and the games against Pools will be decisive.

Nothing associated with this club (I mean the sections that actually affect the results) give me any confidence to suggest we will stay up. By God I hope I'm wrong....

I think a positive from Mondays fixtures is new manager syndrome for Grimsby. Decent win for them yesterday so hopefully they can carry that on.

And yes I am just scraping around for any little positives I can find

My hopes took a bashing when the end of August arrived and we hadn't signed a couple of decent defenders. They took a further bashing when the January window came and went and still defenders were needed. We are hanging by a thread now and I'm still clinging on to it hoping it doesn't snap. My heart says it won't but my head says it will. sadx

Doing the best I can to be positive.

Newport's winning run will probably end tomorrow but I can't see that demolishing their confidence and I think they'll pick up more points than us between now and the end of the season.

People keep saying that we're sleepwalking into relegation which is hard to argue with. My main hope is that Cheltenham are as well. If we don't win tomorrow I think we'll need to win a battle of two shit teams with little fight in them at Cheltenham. Barnet having nothing to play for won't make a lot of difference if we can't put in a sustained 90 minute effort and Doncaster are as likely to put on a show as they are to coast because they're already champions.

First goal tomorrow will probably decide it but I feel like we're going down.

I actually think Cheltenham will be fine. Yeovil are quite fucked however, 2 wins in 23, fans are fuming, manager admitted he's not sure what more he can do,but they probably just need one more win.

Realistically it's us or Newport.

Who in the current squad has any kind of character?

I can think of only Carson, Oates, possibly Harrison & Magnay at a push. Amond does his best too but where's the service/support?

That's only about 5 of our squad who are up for the battle in my view, and one of them's crocked.

The ones named are the ones who need to stand up and count the rest of them.

No surprises after yesterday that the vote has gone in favour of 23rd.

The two home games are the only realistic chance of picking up points - with the crowd to urge the players on and remind them that they are supposed to be fighting for the future of our football club.

saturday will be the big day one way or another. a rare win and stanley doing the pools a favour at newport may be what is needed. if doncaster are already champions coming up to the last day of the season it,ll be more like party day for them. it,s up to the players now and the chance may be there if things go a bit in their favour.

Regardless of whether or not they've clinched the title by then, I can't see any other scenario on the last day apart from Doncaster tearing us a new one. We simply must be above second bottom when we kick off that match. I can't think of a worse way to bow out than by getting destroyed at the Vic as our opponents are crowned champions in front of a packed and partying Rink End. Newport would doubtless lose as well, just to rub it in. If it came to that I'd rather be relegated at Cheltenham, get it out of the way.

Not beating Barnet is unthinkable.

Not beating Orient was unthinkable as well. I really dont know what we are going to get on Saturday.
However if the crowd get on their back it will kill them.

Tough, it's killing us. I really haven't got time for their feelings anymore. We need players to stand up and be counted now, not understanding.

Here's what they are saying:

"Can you remember last season when daggers and york saved us. Luckily this season we have orient and hartlepool so keep the faith. One win will probably do us!"
and:

"Hartlepool will beat Barnet on Saturday, so imo we'll need at least 5 points to stay up. Whatever happends we need to be going into the last game of the season within touching distance of Hartlepool. Win both our home games and we could even catch Cheltenham. I think their only hope of picking up more points is that game against Hartlepool."

and:

"I don't post on here that often but I think if Cheltenham lose Saturday and we win the Cheltenham game against Hartlepool will be very interesting."

They must be thick as fuck to copy the transporter.
Don't get me going on that fucking scrap heap Teesside icon, tried using it over recent weeks but it opens now for office hours and actually closes for lunch and I kid you not.... That is when the creaking pile of rust can be arsed to work. Even the sat nav warns me I'm approaching a ferry, just waiting for the lovely lady to add the words.... "When it's working!"

Read in the Mail about people dumping rubbish on Middleton beach. Looked at the picture and was expecting to see Featherlite, Cleverdick and one or two other stars stumbling about with a beachball.
Jones says that he should not be down to him to motivate professional footballers. Who's this loser trying to kid ? Motivating the team and getting the team game ready is his job. Cloughie always said that. Speaking of the great man, I've had useful rule of thumb to separate the good managers from the dross. That's to imagine what Cloughie would do or say, given a stress situation. He would n't have come out with that Jones nonsense. Neither did he ever use the word hopefully in a football context. He may have used it in say 'if I can tell young Rupert to bring the his turnstile takings to my office after the game I can stick the cash in my safe and no-one will ever know, hopefully'.
Pools 1-Barnet 0...hopefully.

Since relegation from League One, Pools have only been heading one way - into non-league football.
Now if anyone thinks that a speedy return to League Two will happen, then think again. Management that has been blind to the events of the last few seasons will not have the foresight/resources to appreciate that we can easily emulate York City and struggle in the National League.
Yes, it is not mathematically certain that we are relegated but anyone who thinks otherwise is not thinking rationally.

Hello back again

I voted for 22nd place

I think Newport will lose both of their remaining games and I think you will just beat Cheltenham
Doncaster probably will beat you but IMO Notts will be too much of a tough game for Newport
Good luck for your two remaining games and hopefully you guys stay up
It will be a shame if you get relegated because your fans are passionate especially from when I was there in the Niramax stand I think it is called
You got let down by an unfortunately poor manager and the players
