Anne Darwin!!!!

Started reading her book today and I'm 3 quarters through it....a fascinating story!!!!
I have sympathy for her which I never had before!!!! confised

He was just an idiot fantasist and control freak!!!!
I really feel for both their families....I just can't begin to understand how the 2 sons felt when it all came out!!!! sadx

A really good read though!!!!

I worked with John for several years and was actually on the same wing as him when he went 'missing'

A very strange chap indeed. Everyone at work was certain he had planned his disappearance.

Was it you Mr.Bresslaw that saw him at Seaton but the police only phoned Anne to see if she had seen him????

Apparently a work colleague saw him with his big beard but swore it was him!!!!

No. My mate passed him on the road past Hart towards he A19.

Good Grief.

I have heard many people say this book is a good read, and like most had their opinions changed on her.

I had no idea so many locals thought he had seen him prior.

I shall definitely read it though.

As in so many cases the press give the woman a much more hard time than the man involved in a crime.

I guess she gets a hard time as you don't expect a mother to lie to her sons Like that. And most people probably can't understand the mental torture and manipulation he put her under.

I never thought about the sons knowing too.......has to be a fillum in the offing I am sure the idea was mooted.

There was a film, but they filmed it in Southwold

One of those real time, fake documentary films with a bearded Darwin travelling the area on a series of buses would pack the multiplexes. Soundtrack by Mogwai, lots of slow motion sequences as he gazes out of the windows at Seaton beach. Maybe throw in some moody close ups of a fat bloke eating a Greggs pasty and a sinister voice offering children warm milk being picked up by the bus radio.

I'm sure we could get Arts Council funding for this.
