I can't help but hate the guy. Strange given how well he did for us in his first spell.

Met him a couple of times - seemed like a really decent guy and he helped me out 'big style' with a charity that I used to help out with.

Overall, I think he did well for Pools.

Seriously what is their to hate about Chris Turner!?

It staggers me how little respect people who were involved in an era we can all look back at and remember fondly get at times. You'd have thought they'd have been involved in the last five or six years not a period when we actually were in the top half of Leagues on a regular basis.

Big shame I liked him. Imagine this is the end of the road for him as he has hardly enhanced his CV of late.

I had a number of conversations with Chris Turner during his first spell in particular and I always found him honest, straightforward and very engaging. He was genuinely interested to here about my views on players from a fans perspective.

Like PJ says I can't understand the vitriol towards him.

Without him we'd have struggled to survive that season and then he built the foundations of one of the best squads we'll ever see at the club

couldn't stand the bloke, especially his comments after we dicked Sheff Wed on penalties.

Big headed, arrogant loser.

He speaks very highly of you.

He had a go at me once for posting his starting line ups on here most Fridays. I used to do it in a very subtle manner and used to say stuff like 'I have a feeling the team will be this' to warn off watching Bunker reading opposition managers but he still had a right monk on over it but no hard feelings from me he managed us during some good and memeroble times and brought some very good players to the club, some who also get rather bafflingly slaughtered by people like yourself as times. Now as for the bloke who followed his first managerial stint what an absolute cu..........

And just what did you expect him to say after being beaten by a lower league team? He was their new manager then.
He of course could have said .....' we got taught a lesson tonight by a brilliant group of lads I used to manage. In fact I wish I'd stayed there now after seeing how my new team performed, a team whose been shown how poor they are by my old team who I love deeply and wish I was back there now. Etc, etc etc......."

First spell was brilliant, one of the best times to be a Poolie ever. Couldn't fault him for taking the Wednesday job.

He lost his mojo after failing with Wednesday and Stockport. He looked like he'd been dealt a shit hand at Stockport, but as soon as he left they rocketed up from the bottom of the league.

In his second spell at Pools he was Mr Negative, talking up 'big' clubs and talking down 'little' Pools. Was glad when he went.

I never had any dealings with him personally, but at one end of year do at the Borough Hall I presented the Monkey Business award to Micky Barron. It was the season where we had treaded water back in League One after the 'unbeatable' season, a bit of a damp squib that featured ALB and Budtz in goal (shudders).

I did a bit of piss-taking before the award. When I looked down to the front table to see the reactions, Wilson and Hodcroft were laughing away, and Turner was giving me daggers. Apparently he was really angry, which to me indicates someone who hasn't got a good balance of personality.

I also didn't like the way he used to take credit for the acheivements of Pools teams after he'd gone. He was a regular on the ITV north east footy programme, aand some of the things he used to come out with were blatant lies.

In spite of all this I wish him well, and hope he gets a job soon.

Just well away from Pools.

Only at Pools could someone who did so much good be reviled by so many.

He was there at the start of the glorious period and deserves massive credit for it.

But there is nothing like rewriting history.

Enjoyed the successive play-off seasons but never liked his hair which counts for a lot.
