Please recommend me a location for myself and OH (and Dog) in Hartlepool and surrounding areas.
Getting grumpy in our old age and sick of living near busy road with shared driveway.
Serious answers only please!

Budget: Up to £250k including any work that needs to be done.
Detached with 3 or 4 Bedrooms with at least one en-suite.
Most important: private, quiet, off a busy road location, with own drive.
Secluded but not isolated (still need fast internet).

I'm thinking modern/new build, but although you can get a decent size house for that money you still end up fairly close to your neighbours in that price range.
OH is thinking something more quirky. Maybe a cottage that isn't big enough to appeal to family but would do us, as long as it is in good location.

OH found something along this line off Hart Road (opp Hart Motors). The property looks fine, but I'm thinking not the safest/secure location?
Property is fairly near the road also, but is surrounded by trees.

Also looked at Wynyard, but although there is only the two of us (and Dog!) houses are a bit too small in our price range (and still fairly close to neighbours)

Anyway, any suggestions?

Cheers for that.

I was thinking of getting opinions from people from the town who know it better than me.

What about the West Park area?
Something similar to this:

Park close by for walking the dog.
Access to main road nearby.

That sounds decent.

Anyone know that Hart Road area in my first post?
What's it like?

EDIT:

This is the property.
Quirky but could be a bit too open at the front security wise:

With that budget in our town you should have no problem finding a new home to suit you.
Good luck to you your lass and the dog in finding the right place.

Thanks for that Kevin. Very kind of you.

As I said you can get a good size new build for that money, but even the big houses are so close together.
We are willing to sacrifice space for location.

Other places we have been looking at: Seaton, The Fens, Greatham, Elwick etc..

If you wait 18 months or so, there are going to be some very exclusive propertires around the Mill House area.

Other than that west park.

Working class me mate. I don't see £250k (at most) on a house to be a massive amount of money.
Wasn't trying to brag or anything. Just wanted opinions from locals.

Fair enough. I come from Stockton and to me Hartlepool is a step up in the World!

Cheers for all the good advice anyway.
Best to leave it now before it turns nasty!

What about Elwick, or Sedgefield? A bit further afield, there are lots of canny little villages around Durham with quirky cottage type houses. They might need doing up and aren't in trendy areas, but you get great views and, usually, bargains

i know just the house for you !!!

i went and viewed a old coach house down the parade its tucked away behind a massive house thats next to tunstall court.

the access is via private electric gates and a private driveway its got loads of scope to do all sorts to it and could be a cracking home.

me and the wife loved it but having 2 kids living at home it woukd been a nightmare trying to renovate it

it would make a lovely house and im your man to do the building work im not saying im the best avout but im in the top 1

Beware they still dunk people in the village pond in Greatham and often have ritual sacrifices

Just wait and buy a penthouse off plan in Raby Road towers Victoria Development when Coxall releases the blue print.

No pond here Bob, although the odd sacrifice still occurs :o

The Drive, Hartlepool, TS25 2HJ, this is quite secluded and quiet, not on a road and loads of dog walking :animals-dogrun:
