I don't think we have one!!!!
In the not too distant past we had the likes of Clarke, Westwood, Barron, Tinkler etc etc !!!!
We don't seem to have had ONE for years....one that could lift the team, one cracking jokes, one geeing up the team, one giving orders etc etc!!!!
That to me is a big part of our current plight and shittyness!!!!

But it's been obvious for years and all we seem to do is cut the budget every year.

It's worrying that every single fan can see we needed improvement and especially experience, and all we have been doing is getting rid of players and bringing inexperienced kids on cheap loans

The only one one who came close - but not for some months - was Billy....

Despite our big squad there's probably only a handful of players including Carson, Thomas, donnelly and amond that I would keep. Every other player in the squad has been generally poor when I've seen them play and I wouldn't be sad to see any of them go!

I think we also lack winners, has anyone in our squad been part of a team that has won something? E.g. Promotion, play off etc..

I do not think there is any argument that the team is 'soft' all over the park. A good example is Featherstone who splits the supporters. I am not a fan but I still think he is one of our better players and that's one of the problems. Even his fans will admit he can't tackle and as stand in captain does not show up as a leader.
I don't think Jones can change the attitude of the team without bringing in two or three expierenced hard working players and I don't hold up much hope of that at the present time.

Exactly this. A fair few of them would be without a club if it wasn't for Pools too. Severe lack of desire to be better than where they are currently. Thomas should get out as soon as he can.

Every player at any level, in any team, can see what is happening in their team.

At Pools at the moment, the rest have seen 4-5 first team squad players allowed to escape the prison sentence. I bet you a pound to a penny that every other player wants out. Any player that has any professional pride that is.

I have played in teams that lose a few players and then everyone else starts tolook round and thinks, "shit,I need to get out of here as well, dont want to be last man standing".

And they get pelters for not clapping the fans. For fooks sake. I bet these players are itching to get away.

Granted I havent seen them as much as most of you, but even I can see the obvious.
