I'm quietly confident that we'll get something. Probably pneumonia as it's going to be freezing.

For my nephew's sake I really hope we win, he's been to 5 Pools games now and the best we've done is a goalless draw at Walsall.

My last 2 away games were Morecambe and Plymouth, first one we scored 5 the other we conceded 5. So I'm going for 5-5 draw.

Must be a home win if previous form is owt to go by. According to Jones, we responded last week and according to Collins we can't string two performances together.

Mansfield 3-0 Pools

Mansfield 3-Pools 1. Rooney.

Bullied out of it again more than likely. With their horrible fans and manager, could be a lively afternoon all round!

Can't see anything other than a heavy defeat.

They are a big, physical team and on a great run of form, and loathe him or detest him the fat fucker in charge of them knows how to set teams up to beat teams like ours.

Mansfield 1st half Mansfield 2nd half Green to score first and 3-0 with 2 from set pieces

Well Dave Jones appears to have changed feck all. Not blaming him mind, he inherited an unbalanced squad made up of far too many youngsters that he's only been allowed to add loanees to.

Can guarantee the post match interview will be "Amond had a great chance, if that goes in we win the game. We know what we need to do it's just getting that into the players. We go again next week"

We've fucked up massively by ignoring the fact we simply can't defend for the last 5 years.

Jones will be out of here before we know it.

It's ok, we're bringing on a 17 year old right back now.

It's not like we let a decent backup go out on loan recently is it?

Oh...

As I was saying the other week, when the crack coming out of the club was about the feelgood factor and this being a transitional season, that's not how it looks when you actually review the results and the league table.

Its a relegation battle, pure and simple, and if you look at the fixtures in the coming weeks and months it does not look pretty. The one winnable looking game this month was Crewe at home, as they were in freefall. However even they seem to have found some form today FFS.

Its Transitional alright, we are heading out the league at this rate sadx sadx sadx

Sam takes over good display against stevenage clean sheet 451 2.0 win

Since then 2 in the center midfield and 8 goals conceded.

I wonder what sam is thinking ?

Fair point chip why is it that most people who watch pools know we need to play 451 due to the piss poor players we have got.

Results dont lie but having said that what do i know.

away matches at notts county, orient and cheltenham will determine our fate.

Main reason though is:

The football club is badly owned and badly managed.

Listened on BBC Tees sounded a poor game.

I feel sorry for those who made the journey to Mansfield to see such a poor display.

I certainly wouldn't blame Dave Jones, there is a major rebuild to be had, another scrap at the bottom. Newport are worrying me now, Westley signing a new team in the window has certainly done the trick- for Jones now I would be worried and give the likes of Smith, Richardson and Hawkes a chance, the defence sounded shocking today- seen Richardson and Harly Wise in the Reserves -deserve a go . Rob Jones ? whats the craic with him?

Well said Chip. I attended the talk in, to me Coxall's a bit fly and blaise. Yes its transitional but we are starting to get sucked in, our position and demise is similar to that of York last season. I hope Coxall is what he says he is but I am still not sure? In the talk in he said we are in a false position, I'm afraid we are where we deserve to be-you hit the nail on the head saying we have a lot of average players who are incapable of giving the extra steel we need to grind out a result.

Since Steve Evans took over at Mansfield they are getting results yet according to Ivan Ash on BBC Tees there was nothing in it bar the 4 goals and they are an average team- give Evans his due he gets results- Mansfield are the dark horses in L2- playoffs or even grabbing that last spot to go up automatically.

Luton Tuesday is gonna be tough- can see us being battered again? Hopefully not-I hope Dave Jones turns it around or no doubt he will soon have the usual chunterers on his back-maybe Hignett was not doing such a bad job afterall ?

Oke doke chip we can call them average players at best, how ever having been watching pools since the early sixties and in them days pools got a lot of hammerings but they never had a pot to piss in so i probably accepted the fact a win was good going.

Nowadays how ever i just carnt seem to accept bad tactics and very little effort shown in most of the games i have watched this season

It's not often that I find myself in complete agreement with CF but he is right on the money with these comments I fear. The timing of Hignett's dismissal was absolute pants but you have to wonder if this was part of some cunning plan to drop us in the shit good and proper.

Just got home. Oh dear. To a man we were truly terrible. Reminded me of Stevenage away. Even if Amond had scored we'd still have lost 4-1.

Bartlett looked poorly positioned for one of their goals, third I think, not that I blame him but being poorly positioned doesn't help. He wasn't quite in the centre of his goal when I felt he should've been.

We were unlucky with the first really, Harrison tried to block the cross which he partially did and on another day it would've gone out for a corner but not today and we seemed slow to react when the ball came across the face of goal.

Nelson showed the odd flash of quality when he beat his man a couple of times but that was literally it. Can't recall a single shot other than Amonds.

Bates had a mare and his error for their second set the tone for the rest of his game. Even Kavanagh had a poor game and he's been pretty decent to date, gave the ball away more often than finding his man. Thomas did nothing but we rarely crossed the half way line so little chance to shine and he's still returning to match sharpness.

The way Walker moves around the pitch it looks like he's disinterested and slow and I reckon he'll come in for dog's abuse on here when everyone gets home and posts on here. Personally, I think some of that is just how it looks, he doesn't chase lost causes like, for example, Oates who just runs all day so he gives the impression he's lazy, I really don't think he is and when he's on the ball he looks ok. There is still a good player in there but he must be just bereft of confidence and probably shits himself a bit when in possession. As good as Hawkins is I don't think he'd have been able to make a difference today.

We should also acknowledge that they aren't bad and absolutely full of confidence so we'd have had to have played fucking well to get anything from the game so realistically we were always going to be massive underdogs. That said, it doesn't excuse how truly bollocks we were. Awful to watch. I also don't think we should be massive underdogs against anyone in this league.

Sooooo very, very slooooow and predictable when in possession, we basically played it in an arc from wing to wing until we gave it away.

I have absolutely no idea what I'd do to sort this lot out.

Really fucking poor.

Is the plan to create a situation where the town no longer has a club so the council sell the land cheaply or end up with more empty property around the marina area.

Spot on Shilts. Saved me typing that!

Surely that is Walker's last chance though? I will not be sorry to see him leave. Today was an opportunity for him to make his mark, and he just drifted around again. Really frustrating.

I reckon we're Donald Ducked, it's our season to go, just cannot see us picking enough points up, I actually think we'll struggle to get 45 points, and that's not just a knee jerk reaction to today's result.

I genuinely really understand why people want shut of Walker but I just can't believe that we can't get him back to the form he showed when he started playing for the first team. He absolutely has it in him, we've all seen it.....I'd hate to give up on him but I understand why he'll probably leave sooner rather than later. Such a shame.

My lad plays for the East Riding and they played Middlesbrough last year....Ian McGuckin was there and my step dad being my step dad, went and had a word with him and during the chat they discussed Walker and McGuckin said they felt Walker had it all but he just hasn't developed as they had hoped and was very 'in and out'. Hardly Earth-shattering news that we didn't already know but when people in the club are saying the same things the fans are thinking it doesn't bode well for the lad.

I have said it before and I`ll say it again, stick Walker up front, he has all the credentials and won`t look as exposed.

i remember 3/4 years ago when he was sat in the Millhouse when part of the yoof team and he spent the whole game on his mobile instead of learning from watching others, I said then he would end up at Tesco!
