Love Friends, my favourite is the one Phoebe changes her name to Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock but then changes it back again.

Mine used to be Corrie, but not for along time now. It used to be funny. I think the last real 'character' was Deidre Barlow's mam, who had some great one-liners.

On a serious note, the scene with Bruce Willis where Ross hides under the bed gets me every time.

Friends wasn't a soap. Technically a comedy series although you can argue about that.

Emmerdale by a mile the recent episode on dementia was truly ground-breaking and heartbreaking in the extreme.

If you want something that's utterly gash but compulsive viewing ( a bit like a modern day Crossroads ), try Doctors on BBC 1.
I hate myself for watching it, but that's retirement for you !

For me, you can't beat Christmas Eastenders. I still remember where I was when Den divorced Angie: I was at home, watching Eastenders on TV.

The Mitchell's are Lightweights..Phelan or Cain Dingle would rip them apart.

If you don`t think friends was funny, you need to see someone monsewer, it is on every day and whenever you tune in it is funny, seen it hundreds of times and the best, end of!

Humour is very much subjective Mr Butt so there isn't much point in arguing about levels of funny. Clearly not a soap though.

Yes, go for it. Start a new thread, Snowy!

Someone (who shall remain nameless) once told me that he always imagined the Colonel as Fred Flintstone. Always thought that was a brilliant observation. Not sure if the Flintstones were a soap, but if not it ought to be, just for present purposes.

Crossroads. So bad it was compelling.

Is Benny back yet?
